Purpose of the Job
Manage the team of Procurement and Inventory Executives and provide a professional
service to the company and its partners. Apply the purchasing, inventory management and
supply chain returns operations to co-ordinate optimum inventory and maximum sales
throughput, whilst reducing the risk in excess or aged stock.
Job Content and Context
1. Achieve targets set by the Procurement and Inventory Manager
2. Liaise and build relationships with key vendor contacts in order to receive timely
and accurate information in regards to product availability.
3. Monitor overall stock levels and escalate overstock/under-stock situations. This will
require high level forecasting reviews including historical and future sales data. Work
across departments to co-ordinate forecast and supply plans.
4. Direct and co-ordinate immediate Team’s efforts to ensure optimum inventory availability
and minimal stock risk within departmental KPIs.
5. Maintain the Oracle based system to ensure the most accurate supply information is
always available to the company.
6. Ensure the company’s legal requirements are met with respect to the purchase
and transportation of goods.
7. Manage the company’s inventory assets, co-ordinating the return of all stocks including
License LODs, Excess/Aged/EOL/Faulty
8. Liaise with Finance to ensure agreed payment is received from the vendor for the
returned, replaced or destroyed goods.
9. Lead the Procurement and Inventory Team in best practice Inventory and Order
Management process.
10. Deputise for the Procurement & Inventory Manager during his time away from the office.
11. Any ad-hoc duties deemed appropriate by the Procurement and Inventory Manager.
Performance Standards
1. Targets set by the Procurement and Inventory Manager are achieved within the time
scales

3. Make sure you are receiving the most up to date information on product availability by
constantly communicating with your key contact.
4. A weekly meeting with the team manager to ensure workloads are sustainable and
highlight areas of escalation.
5. Ensure that all vendor returns are completed within the guidelines set within the trading
contract.
6. Escalate opportunities and threats to the Procurement and Inventory Manager.
7. All ad-hoc duties are completed in the time scales as agreed with the Procurement and
Inventory Manager.
Candidate Profile
Work History
Must have:
1. At least four years’ experience in an IT distributor or reseller environment in either
product management or purchasing with a proven track history in forecast planning
and retail supply management.
2. Commercially awareness, able to manage long term supply planning and influence
decisions that result in excellent inventory availability, able to direct and co-ordinate a
team of buyer/inventory planners, able to project manage supply to new retail
accounts, co-ordinating tasks on a cross-functional level, analytical -able to identify
inventory and supply risks
3. Must be able to work on their own initiative – working through set processes as well
as using their skills to monitor and review inventory – influencing suppliers manage
long and immediate term supply planning to meet projected customer demands whilst
keeping within company guidelines and requirements
4. Experience of managing a team, conducting reviews and appraisals
