DEPOT THEATERMUSTER 0745 VISTORS GATE ENTER HERE Plan of the Day / Saturday 2013 March 09 0745 NWU Muster / Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Depot Theater / Uniform: 0800 Morning Colors / Uniform Inspection / March to MCRD Swim Tank 0830 Marine Corps Swim Qualification / Uniform: PT Gear 1045 Recovery Time / Changeover / Uniform: NWU 1110 Chow / March to MCRD Recruit Chow Hall 1230 Close Order Drill Observation and Practice / MCRD Parade Deck 1430 Obstacle Course / Uniform: Boots and Utes 1530 Muster / MCRD, Depot Theater / Dismissal Important Information Regarding Marine Corps Swimming Qualification: Both the Sea Cadets and Navy Leaguers will be receiving the full Marine Corps Swim training that Marine recruits receive during boot camp. They will be taught by fully trained USMC Drill and Water Survival instructors. These instructors teach hundreds of recruits each week and their priority is safety. The swim qualification is done in the Marine Corps Utility Uniform which will be provided to each cadet at the swim tank. Each cadets does need to bring at least one towel and an extra set of PT gear (this is not optional.) In the event that a cadet does not know how to swim, they will be taken to the shallow end of the pool and given individual instruction by a Marine. There will also be a Navy Corpsman present at all times. For Gate Access: PMO on base will be given a gate access list so that the cadets can be dropped off and picked up by parents at the Depot Theater. The procedure will be exactly the same as coming onto 32nd street. Be sure that you have your up to date insurance and vehicle registration. Gate 5 is the visitor’s gate and there is the chance that your vehicle may be searched. Please remember that if you attempt to bring any kind of illegal substance onto a federal installation, you will be arrested. A medical marijuana card means nothing to military police. If you attempt to bring a weapon on base you will either be told to leave or they will secure the weapon until you leave base. Cadets: This is a base with high visibility. There will be recruits, Drill Instructors, Sailors and other Marines who will see you. This is the time to act like young, responsible adults. Remember that you are representing the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Having all your uniforms squared away, a fresh haircut and shaved face are paramount. A medium or high skin fade haircut is recommended for males. Just as with a normal drill weekend, phones will be collected and cameras are not allowed. Be sure to drink plenty of water the day prior and eat breakfast the morning of. Remember that we are guest aboard MCRD. This is going to be a very busy and tiring day, but it will also be one of the most memorable and fun drill weekends you will have with the Sea Cadets.
