\ Information Technology - Networking Systems Program Fast Track to Employment Program Description: The Networking Systems Fast Track Program offers comprehensive network training from Mountwest Community and Technical College’s CompTIA’s A+, Microsoft’s IT Academy and Cisco’s Networking Academy. This path of study is a selective, fast-track, employment-focused training program in which students take courses developed by CompTIA, Microsoft and Cisco, providing specialized skills in network administration, design and security. Students will take courses preparing them for the following certifications: CompTIA’s A+ Hardware and Operating Systems Cisco’s CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Microsoft’s Server MCSA and MCSE One-year Certificates of Study in CISCO will be earned. An Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology will be earned. Career Outlook: Employment of computer support specialists is projected to grow 17 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations. More support services will be needed as organizations upgrade their computer equipment and software. Employment of network and computer systems administrators is projected to grow 12 percent from 2012 to 2022, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Growth will be highest at firms that provide cloud computing technology. The IT Fast Track option is a grant-based pilot program designed to be a selective-entry, employment-focused, fast-tracked IT network training program. Entry is by application and competitive selection based on student commitment and recommendation of the IT Fast Track Selection Committee.
