Committee Meeting Minutes

9:30 a.m.
Welcome and Roll Call – Present: Vice Chair J. Urbancic, J. Andersen (via phone), R. Piper, G. Ziegler, J.
Finn, D. Beyer, S. Galewski , E. Fisher and B. Gysbers
Review and Approval of Minutes – motion by R. Piper to approve September 19, 2013 minutes.
Seconded by E. Fisher.
Website – Committee reviewed current site and had a few comments that need addressing:
– LinkedIn link needs to be added to the homepage
– Recipient list for invitations to events – all former attendees, including non-members should be
on the list and this needs to be addressed. J. Duchniak will be contacted
– Can we gain list of “searched” items on the website so we can track what our users need?
Perhaps we can address these needs at our upcoming conferences.
QR Badges –They were cumbersome at the annual conference and improvements are needed but there
is value to the badges. Open source software was used and we may invest in software to accomplish
what we need to. J. Finn will look into this. Also discussed was the desire to have a downloadable
conference schedule. G. Ziegler will look into this.
Facebook/Twitter – Chair Heyroth, Vice Chair Urbancic and J. Finn do a great job with sites.
Seminar Planning – Vice Chair Urbancic did a recap on comments from last year’s event. They are:
– Time efficiency (time ran over)
– Location (now moved to the east side of Madison)
– Topics seemed to cater to Managers and not “workers.” Suggested topics include:
o Operator updates
o Phosphates
o Radios
o Lab procedures
Committee members brainstormed a list of topics. This list includes committee member in charge of
getting the speaker. They are:
– Cyber Security – Wonderware – J. Finn
– Fixed Network Reading Systems – Neptune Technology Group – D. Geier
– Video Inspection Services – POSM, Oak Creek, Envirotech – D. Beyer, S. Galewski, Vice Chair
Urbancic
– GIS Open Source – POSTGIS Web Services – J. Andersen
– Lab Technology Equipment – Hach – J. Finn
– Radio/Video – Case Study – E. Fisher

Training IT – what’s available – small class and break into groups – Vice Chair Urbancic
Certificate/Customer Service/Distribution – J. Andersen
Mobile Apps – WE Energies – S. Galewski
There is a potential for round table discussions for the following topics:
– Cyber Security
– Fixed Network Reading Systems
– Video Inspection Services
– GIS
– IT Training
Other ideas for the seminar include:
– Testimonials at the top of the flyer/brochure
– Electronic Survey sent to all attendees the day after the seminar. Once complete, a link will
display that gains access to all presentations
Deadlines:
– All presenters must be on board by end of December, including presentation titles
– Ask presenter if we can distribute their presentation to attendees after the surveys are
complete
– Bio sent to D. Beyer by Feb. 15th
– Ask if vendors want a booth (see attached Exhibitor Registration Form)
– Conference call for all speakers (date to be determined)
