government runs the town. Also the students will learn about the different
jobs that help the community to keep them safe. Furthermore they will learn
about the town council and how its put together. Lastly the students will
practice their reading, writing, and art skills by writing letters and creating
maps.

The fire department helps the town when their is danger. For example if a
house is on fire the fire department comes and puts out the fire

Without the fire department fires would be out of control and spread to every
house on the block. The fire stations are spread out around the town so that
any area can be reached quickly if there is a fire.

The police department also helps the town like the fire department.
However the police protects the town even when danger is not occurring
by monitoring the streets.

Police officers patrol the streets on foot or in cars. Without the police
department cars would be speeding up and down the streets.

Garbage men help keep the community clean. They go around the
community and change the trash bags in the cans that the town has
provided. Also garbage men go to peoples houses to collect there trash

Without Garbage collectors the trash around the town would pile up as high
as mountains and the town would smell very bad.
