January 18, 2010 New Announcements… 1) J-Term Final Grades 2) 1098-T Tax Form Online for Students 3) English Department Invitation to Candidate Lecture 1) J-Term Final Grades The J-term 2010 final grade submission deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010. You may enter student grades via the faculty portal starting Monday, January 18, 2010. Failure to enter grades during this time period will result in instructors needing to submit grades in person to the Office of Academic Services. These grades will be considered late and recorded as such. Instructions are available on the Lindenwood University website by clicking on the following link and reviewing page 19, Grade entry. http://www.lindenwood.edu/technology/docs/facultyPortalUserManual.pdf Undergraduate students should receive grades of (A, B, C, D, F, AF, I, or N). Graduate students should receive grades of (A, B, C, F, AF, I, or N). NOTE: A grade of “D” is not available for graduate students. A grade of “AF” (attendance failure) is given when students stop attending a particular class prior to the published deadline to receive a grade of W (January 13, 2010) but do not withdraw from the course. If the student stops attending after January 13, 2010, the student should receive the earned grade. The grade of “AF” is treated as a grade of “F” in the calculation of the student’s grade point average. A grade of “I” (incomplete) is given at the end of a term only for failure to complete course work due to exceptional circumstances beyond the student’s control. A grade of incomplete is assigned by the instructor after consultation with the student. A list of all incompletes will be sent to each School Dean at the end of the grading period. A grade of “N” (Never attend) is given when a student appears on the class roster but NEVER attended the course at any time during the term. If the student attended even once, he/she should not receive a grade of “N.” Please contact me if you have any questions regarding grading in the faculty portal. Barry P.
