System Requirements
AMS360 8.0 supports Windows 8.0 and Internet Explorer 10. (Windows 8.1 is not supported.)
Vertafore Reporting requires Internet Explorer 9.
When you open Help using Internet Explorer 10, you might see a blank pane where the Help
topic should appear in the Help viewer. Maximize or restore down the Help viewer window
to show the Help topic. We apologize for the inconvenience. This issue will be fixed in a
future release of AMS360.

Accounting
Enhancements to AMS360 accounting in version 8.0 include updates to General Ledger numbers,
Commissions setup, and Late Charge setup.
General Ledger numbers lengthened
The General Ledger number length has increased from five to eight. The change allows you to create
more group and detail accounts within your current Chart of Accounts structure.
When you update to version 8, three zeros are added to each existing general ledger number and you’ll
see the longer numbers when you use Chart of Accounts Setup to create a new group and details
accounts. The change also affects data entry screens and reports where general ledger numbers are
used.
After installing AMS360 8.0, any saved reports, including My Reports, that have selections of
a single general ledger number or ranges of numbers will have those selections cleared. Edit
the report selection criteria and re-enter the individual or range of general ledger numbers
adding the three new zeros.

Commission Setup for Parent and Writing companies now includes options to define commissions by
State and Type of Business as shown in the following examples.

Late Charges can be set up by Division
Using a new field in Agency Setup you can choose to charge Late Charges by Division. Click Use Different
Late Charge Options By Division. Then click Business Unit Setup.
In the Business Unit Setup choose a Division and click Edit. The new Late Charge Options setup is at the
bottom of the Setup screen.

Additional options for applying Late Charges appear on the Division Setup form. The fields only appear if
you have clicked Use Different Late Charge Options By Division in the Accounting Options section of
Agency Setup.

Administration
You will find two new utilities in the Administration Center: Mandatory Field Setup and Audit Trail.
Mandatory Field Setup
A new setup feature provides a way to require a NAIC code and Policy Line of Business. For detailed
information on the feature see AMS360 Online Help.

Audit Trail
The Audit Trail tracks users who have accessed customer information, policies, and claims within the
dates you specify. A user who has selected a link or menu to view, edit, or add new information will
appear on the Audit Trail list. The feature is available in the Administration Center.
The Audit Trail ensures that actions are being performed by the appropriate personnel and maintains
logs for compliance with privacy laws such as HIPPA.
The Audit Trail tracking begins after installing AMS360 8.0. Historical data prior to AMS360
8.0 is not available. Changes made in 8.0 include the internal mechanism to track when users
access customers, policies, and claims.

Important Information about Vertafore eForms
The policy data on Vertafore eForms is populated based on ACORD Level 3 (AL3) standards, which is the
electronic transmission of data (the same method as Download). Because of this, you’ll see differences
in how the data populates the Vertafore eForms versus what appears on the classic AMS360 eForms.
Following is information specific to the Property and General Liability sections in the new Vertafore
eForms.
Property Section - ACORD 140
Amount Field on Property Section - ACORD 140 (2011/10) is populating from the AMS360 Cause of
Loss / Limit 1 field for the Subject of Insurance.
Statement of Values – ACORD 159/ACORD 139
If no Blanket location exists create the ACORD 159 with all Subjects of Insurance from all
locations.
If a Blanket location exists on the policy neither the ACORD 139 nor 159 is created. You will need
to manually add the appropriate form.
Subjects of Insurance and the Cause of Loss will populate as coverage codes rather the code
description.
General Liability Section - ACORD 126
AMS360 “Applies To” field with deductibles doesn’t show on the General Liability – ACORD 126.
Items to consider when using Vertafore eForms:
You must use Vertafore Single Sign on. (AMS360 Online only)
Vertafore eForms will always be the most recent version of a form.
The Agency address is used for all forms because the ACCORD Level 3 (AL3) standards doesn’t have a
mapping that corresponds to the address to use on forms entered in Agency Setup > Forms
Name/Address/Phone Numbers.
Signatures cannot be used on Vertafore eForms.
If logging Activity in setup is turned on for eForms add/change/delete, generating just the Vertafore
eForms will not create an Activity.
Currently you can’t use Forms Activity (archive) to attach the form to an Activity. This is because the
Vertafore eForm works as an attachment and attachments are not currently handled in this process.
Because the eForm is treated as an attachment, it is always emailed as a separate PDF from the
other eForms in the email.
When printing a Vertafore eForm you will not have the option to select what pages you want to
print.
Vertafore eForms has no separate “Delete Form” security rights. If you have security rights to edit
the forms you can also delete a form.

Vertafore Reporting
Production Analysis Report
(AMS360 Online only)
A new Production Analysis Report has been added to Vertafore Reporting. The report provides a way to
see your production information in multiple ways.
Vertafore Reporting is only available to agencies using Vertafore Single Sign on. More information about
the new Production Analysis report is available on My Vertafore.
Download
Changes to Quotes
When a renewal is received after a quote, the prior policy number will now appear in the prior
policy field in the basic policy information section. This allows the renewal increase alert to work
properly.
Expiring policies will now be marked as renewed when a renewal is received after a quote.
Renewals received after the quote will now merge with the quote instead of creating a separate
policy image.
If the expiring policy has a notation and a renewal quote is received in download, the notation will
be carried forward to the renewal quote.
Vertafore Automated Direct Download with Progressive
AMS360 Online agencies can now register to download policies and commission statements directly
from Progressive. When leveraging this new functionality, AMS360 will retrieve Progressive download
data during the regular nightly processing cycles. This eliminates any extra steps you currently have
when downloading through a Progressive Policy Downloader.

Vertafore.
Center Pages Dimmed
You’ll notice in AMS360 8.0 that when you open a page it is dimmed until ready for input. With this
feature you’ll know exactly when you can click and type on the page.

The agency or user default settings for the Claims view are
retained when you switch from Nextgen to Classic and Classic
to NextGen.
Master and Sub-customers
When viewing a sub-customer, the master-customer link can’t
be clicked unless the user has security access to view the
master-customer. Previously, the master-customer link
appeared disabled, but the user could still click it to open the
master-customers regardless of security access.
Customer Policies Side View
and Documents View
When a document is checked out the file name link will be
disabled instead of displaying an error when clicked.
Basic Policy Information
The Business New to Agency check box is now cleared when
the policy renews.
Download
The Policy Remarks are retained and added to or deleted based
on the following settings:
When Save Remark with policy received in download is
selected, the existing Remark is retained and any Remark
received in Download is added to the Remark.
When Save Remark with policy received in download is not
selected, Remarks sent in download will overwrite the
existing Remark.

Classic: AMS360 Form Letters Refine List
When creating a Merge Field Template for Personal Inland
Marine with multiple coverages, refining the Scheduled
Personal Property Classification to a specific selection is now
working consistently.
Form Letters
When merging a Specialty line of Business with Risk Questions
with a Form Letter, the Risk Answers will now merge with the
Risk Questions in the correct order.
Accounting Defects
Verify Checks Printed
You will no longer receive an Unexpected Error if the check
number is longer than 7 digits. You can now print checks using
check numbers up to 12.
Vendor Invoices
When the vendor invoice payment division does not match the
payment bank division, you will no longer be out of balance
when the division posting occurs.
You can create a vendor invoice with a payment bank that is
not in the same division.
Vendor Code/Vendor Invoice
Previously, if a vendor invoice was created and then the Vendor
was deleted, any postings to the general ledger have been
made, but couldn’t be accessed because the vendor was gone.
You are now prevented from posting vendor invoices for
deleted vendors.
Vendor Invoices
Vendor Invoices will no longer appear as partially paid when
actually paid in full.
Billing
The Broker Status (gross/net) and Exec/Rep Status
(Regular/Memo) will be retained from the most recent billing
to the next.
Installment invoices
You can now enter a negative amount or 0.00 in the Premium
to Bill on Effective Date field. AMS360 will correctly create the
installment invoices with the first installment as specified and
the remaining amount spread across the remaining
installments.
Direct Bill
Missing invoice commission records no longer create an issue
when correcting the invoice.
