What we are learning this week in year 5:

Literacy
This week in Literacy we will be doing our end of Year 5 English Tests.
Exam Timetable:
Tuesday –
Reading comprehension test
Thursday Long writing task
Friday –
Short writing task and spelling assessment (different to weekly
spelling test as spellings are not given in advance to learn)
At home:
 Use the following websites to revise any areas of literacy that your child has
found difficult.

 Please read your child’s reading book with them, asking them questions about
the setting, the characters, how the author has written the story, what different
words mean and what they think will happen next.

 Practise weekly spellings which are given out on Friday and tested on the next
Friday.

seconds are given to answer the question, once it has been read twice)
Tuesday and Wednesday - Maths Paper A
Thursday and Friday – Maths Paper B
