Multiple Choice Tips
• Read the question asked.
• Read each possible answer choice.
• Eliminate the obvious wrong answers.
• Review the question, looking for matches
between one of the answers and the data presented.
• Select the best answer based on your analysis

Thematic Essay Tips
Intro:
• Use the DRL Strategy which includes the WRS strategy for your theme / topic
sentence (D = Define Theme, R = Rewrite Theme/Historical Context, L = List topics
you will write about)
Do not use 1st person
language. (“I believe”,
“I”, etc.)
Body Paragraphs:
• Use One (1) Body Paragraph for each task, or topic.
• Create One (1) Body Paragraph for Analyzing – Compare/Contrast,
Positive/Negative, Cause/Effect, Success/Failure, Progress/Decline.
Conclusion:
• Restate theme
• Restate 1 Sentence or example from each body paragraph
• Statement relating topic to the world today (Synthesize)
Try not to look at the suggestions.
As long as the topic you will write about fits the
theme in Global History it is Okay!
Use the Suggestions only if you are stuck.

Intro:

• When referring to documents , you must use the following strategies:
• At end of sentence put the doc # in parenthesis (Doc 1).
• Paraphrase (do not use quotes)
• Use outside information related to topic/document

• Check to make sure you have used enough documents.
