 Planned lesson plans to align with the Alberta curriculum for the grade 10 unit on Trigonometry as
well as Functions and Relations. Team-teach with partner teacher the grade 12 unit on
Trigonometry and Logarithmic Functions using teacher’s notes. Incorporated various forms of
technology in the classroom including the Smartboard and TI-84 plus.
 Obtained experience with marking by grading all forms of summative assessments, where the class
average for the unit was 75%.
 Gained an understanding of the professional relationship between parents and teachers by attending
parent-teacher interviews twice during the practicum time frame. Spoke with parents of the grade
10 students to elaborate on their child’s progress in class
High School Math Tutor
December 2014-January 2015
 Instructed grade 10 students by clarifying misunderstandings and addressing individual student
concerns of course material in preparation for their midterm and final exams in accordance with
their curriculum. Planned an individualized lesson plan for each student, incorporating the key
concepts for the unit students were struggling with as well as additional practice questions
 Student feedback indicated an increase in their course average by 20%
