POSITION DESCRIPTION - SCANIA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD POSITION: DEPARTMENT: RESPONSIBLE TO: Network Support Specialist Information & Technology Services Chief Financial Officer POSITION SUMMARY This role is responsible for all aspects of network administration including planning, installing, supporting all desktop, server and communication hardware and software including office systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES To perform the role successfully, an individual must be able to perform and carry out the following duties, which includes but are not limited to: Install, configure, and maintain all desktop and laptop equipment Install, configure, and maintain all server infrastructure, networking equipment and network operating systems Provide IT Support/Help Desk Support for all computer problems including after hours when required Monitor and configure networks to optimize performance and resolve faults Undertake recovery action in the event of a system failure Establish and control system access sand security levels Provide training and support for system software Implement and co-ordinate housekeeping procedures, including system back-ups, setting up user accounts, monitoring files access, etc. Plan and implement maintenance and upgrades for system software and hardware Maintain peripheral devise Prepares appropriate procedures and documentation Procurement of new hardware and software Support Scania IT strategy Promote and live Scania’s Core Values of Respect for the Individual, Customer First and Quality Comply with Company policies and procedures including the completion of documents and records Promote and work with the Scania Dealer Operating Standards (DOS) to ensure uniform quality standards in all areas of the business Foster and promote a safe and healthy work environment maintaining safe work practices at all time and to work within and comply with Company safety policies and procedures Promote and live Scania’s Core Values of Respect for the individual, Customer First and Quality -Elimination of Waste Any other related tasks as directed by the manager COMPETENCIES To effectively perform in the role, an individual should also be able to demonstrate the following competencies: Customer Service Quality Reliability Product Knowledge Problem Solving Network Support Specialist – Updated August 2014 Market & Industry Knowledge Customer Relationship Management Effective Communication Strategic Analytical Page 1 of 2 POSITION DESCRIPTION - SCANIA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Education and/or Experience: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certificate (MCSE) or equivalent experience Tertiary education or equivalent experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role Experience in the administration of MS Windows Server and desktop technologies, Exchange, and email infrastructure Experience in the administration of Network Infrastructure and Application Servers – MS SQL Server, IIS, and MS Lync Experience in administration of VMware visualization, VOIP, and telephony technologies Experience and knowledge of antivirus packages, recovery and backup procedures, and communications, firewall, and VPN technologies Understanding of network security and audit principles Understanding of Storage, SAN’s, equipment and technologies Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products as well as remote access for users Demonstrated ability to administer network communications such as firewalls and routers Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers coupled with a working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies Orientation and training new staff Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously Highly developed English verbal and written communications ……………………………………………………………...… Employee Signature ……………………………….
