NOTE: Regardless of the current unit of study, students will participate in a weekly vocabulary lesson. The class will take notes on 6-8 new
words and definitions a week. Students will then write a flowing paragraph using all of the new terms plus any other three from past lessons, all
in their correct contexts. (CA ELA Standard: Word Analysis, Fluency, and Systematic Vocabulary Development 1.1: Identify and use the literal
