This skills-based course will ensure student success across a wide range of literature and
composition. This course reinforces and extends previous knowledge by developing an
appreciation for different literary genres, developing an appreciation and understanding of the
structure of English grammar, improving vocabulary using context clues, developing skills in
written and oral expression, and improving organizational skills.

EXPECTATIONS:
Our classroom will be a comfortable and safe place for all who enter. No one will be allowed to
interrupt your learning. Each of you deserves a place to work that can be quiet and peaceful and
at other times be fun and interactive. I fully expect each of my students to respect each other,
follow classroom instructions, and school rules/policy.
Electronic devices may be used for EDUCATIONAL purposes only (please see student
handbook).
All students are expected to read, write, speak, listen and participate in class assignments.

Please keep in touch with me. If you are struggling or need more of a challenge, please let me
know. Students and parents may email me at any time, especially if you have questions from
home. I will try my best to answer any questions and concerns. If I do not have an immediate
answer, I will get back to you as soon as possible.
If you need extra help and cannot make it during tutoring time, please let me know so I can
accommodate. I am here to assist with your academic achievements.
