May 2014-August 2014 In my time with this company, I was sent into the field every day to perform either monitoring of water quality, treatment on aquatic plant life, habitat restoration, or accumulated sediment removal. Constantly being in the field made for a fast and exciting learning experience. I left this job to continue schooling at Penn State. Amazon November 2013-December 2013 Here I gained the skills necessary to work with the company computer system to enter receiving inventory quantities. This job occurred during the busy holiday season. There was constant pressure to keep up with the high volume of incoming product and maintain quality assurance of those products. I left this job to start college at Penn State. Eagle Rock Resort August 2013-November 2013 At the resort I worked at the golf course in the pro shop and outside as a starter and ranger. In the pro shop I would receive calls, make tee times for guests or members, and complete other purchases for the golfers or visitors. As a starter I made sure everyone started at their designated tee time with a clean and fully charged golf cart since the resort uses electric carts. As a ranger, I would tour the course making sure players were following course rules and playing at or faster than the minimum pace of play. I left this job due to the weather restraints slowing the golf season. United States Marine Corps June 2013-August 2013 My time in the Marine Corps was short due to medical reasons. I was able to complete half of basic training before discharge. During my time on Parris Island, I learned many life long skills and values that are sure to remain with me for the remainder of my life. Nause Landscaping June 2012-August 2012 This was a very physical job, fast passed, and called for many long days. Time management and maintaining health habits helped me fulfill my time with Nause. I left this job to resume my high school education. Education The Pennsylvania State University January 2014-Present Currently in my third semester with Penn State I have or am taking the following classes; EDSGN 100, SRA 111, PHYS 211, CHEM 111, CHEM 110, MATH 141, MATH 140A, MUSIC 082, CAS 100A, IST 110, ENGL 015, ECON 102, MUSIC 083, CE 100S. As of the end of Summer 2014, my cumulative GPA is a 3.22. Hazleton Area High School August 2009-May 2012 I graduated as a distinguished graduate in the top ten percent of the class with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. I played freshman basketball and was on the swim team my junior year. All four years I was part of the marching band. In the marching band I played alto sax and was the drum major for my final two years. I was in the jazz band where I was lead alto sax. In the concert band I played alto sax, tenor sax, and oboe. By audition I played in district and region band for three years and was in the district jazz band my senior year. I was part of the Gifted program. My senior project was to create environments in which to monitor the effectiveness of a biodegradable additive in flexible packaging for Bemis Company. Monitoring and testing lasted for 18 months. Johns Hopkins University Summers of 2008 and 2009 Through the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, I took part in two 3-week long programs. The summer of 2008 I took part in The Principles of Engineering were we observed structures, calculated loads, and then constructed models and tested their structural integrity. Summer of 2009 I was in a course called The Math of Money where we learned about business, local, national, and international economies, and the stock market.
