Are any assistive technology
resources available via the
University Network? If so what is
available?
Balabolka; X-Mind; Lingoes; NVDA;
Orato; T- Bar; Vu - Bar
Does University accommodation
have internet access? Do students
have to pay? Please tell us about
campus wifi coverage.
The main campus on 20 Bedford Way
does have wi-fi, but at present it is
patchy and unreliable.
Does the library make any
accommodations for to students with
disabilities/SpLDs?
Students need to contact Disability &
Wellbeing Support to agree on a
support package called an L&TSA
(Learning & Teaching Support
Agreement), which could include
access to some additional services
offered by IOE library staff.

Do you have study areas on campus
specifically for the use of students

students.
Please give as much detail as
possible. Please make distinctions
between coursework and
examinations where appropriate.
What arrangements are in place for
students in receipt of additional time
in examinations?
Special exam arrangements (including
additional time) are discussed as part
of a student’s L&TSA.
Does the HEI cover costs for support
workers in examinations ie for
readers and scribes…or is the DSA
used to cover these?
We would expect the DSA to cover
these costs as an exam is an integral
part of a programme of study.
Do any other ‘student services’ have
particular provisions for students
with disabilities? For example is
there a dedicated careers adviser,
study abroad adviser, residential
services/accommodation adviser,
study skills adviser?
All students have access to the same
services eg. Careers advice, welfare,
international support.
Any other specialist provisions?
N/A
