Job Description
POSITION: Special Projects Levels C B A
7340-06
SUMMARY: Work in a team environment to execute many of AAON’s special projects.
Projects often involve different forms of construction and demolition, and can consist of:
hanging sheet rock, installing ceiling grids, adding/removing compressed air lines, metal
building structures, etc.
Class ‘C’ Responsibilities:



Basic Construction Skills
Ability to execute instructions effectively
Adequate problem solving skills
Class ‘C’ Levels : Theses levels are attainable within the ‘C’ level, and require varying
levels of responsibilities/performance. Performance will be determined by the
Supervisor/Manager, and will take into account Attitude, Safety, House Keeping, Job
Performance, etc. Increasing in level requires satisfactory performance/competency in
the current level’s responsibilities, as well as evidence that the employee will succeed at
the next level.
Level 1: Introductory
 Supervision on most tasks required.
 Ability to learn, grow, and improve skill set.
 Great Attitude.
Level 2: Moderate
 Displays an average level of construction skills.
 Can handle many tasks independently, but may need assistance on more
complex tasks.
 Requires some problem solving, and communication with teammates.
 Requires mastery of Level 1.
Level 3: High level
 Displays a high level of understanding/skills in construction.
 Can handle most tasks independently, only seldom needing supervision to
complete tasks.
 Shows very good problem solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
 Requires mastery of Level 2.
Level 4: Advanced
 Displays advanced and continuously improving construction skills.
 Very seldom needs supervision, and can take the lead for most projects.
 Can communicate with teammates and supervisors at a high level, and can
accurately estimate the status/conclusion of a project.


Maintains a positive attitude, and executes projects with a sense of urgency.
Requires mastery of Level 3.
Class ‘B’ Responsibilities:



Manage projects.
Estimate and order materials for a project.
Inspect and report on the status of a project to management.
Class ‘B’ Levels: Theses levels are attainable within the ‘B’ level, and require varying
levels of responsibilities/performance. Performance will be determined by the
Supervisor/Manager, and will take into account Attitude, Safety, House Keeping, Job
Performance, etc. Increasing in level requires satisfactory performance/competency in
the current level’s responsibilities, as well as evidence that the employee will succeed at
the next level. The ‘B’ class requires more leadership position than the “C” class. Class
‘B’ employees will often be asked to lead a project.

 Can manage some projects, and the workers within.
Level 2: Moderate
 Displays an average leadership, project management.
 Can read blueprints, and generate approximate material estimates for a project.
 Can manage many of the projects independently.
 Requires mastery of Level 1.
Level 3: High level
 Displays a high level of leadership/project management.
 Can manage most projects independently.
 Can estimate and inspect increasingly complex projects, and effectively
communicate the progress with others.
 Requires mastery of Level 2.
Level 4: Advanced
 Displays advanced and continuously improving leadership/project management.
 Very seldom needs help, and can effectively manage most projects.
 Can often design, estimate, execute, and inspect very complex projects, and
communicate the results in a timely manner.
 Motivates team members to have a positive attitude, and to work with a sense of
urgency.
 Requires mastery of Level 3.

Manage very complex projects
Class ‘A’ Levels: Theses levels are attainable within the ‘A’ level, and require varying
levels of responsibilities/performance. Performance will be determined by the
Supervisor/Manager, and will take into account Attitude, Safety, House Keeping, Job
Performance, etc. Increasing in level requires satisfactory performance/competency in
the current level’s responsibilities, as well as evidence that the employee will succeed at
the next level. The ‘A’ class requires more leadership in the position than the “B” class.
Class ‘A’ employees will often be asked to lead multiple, high complexity tasks.
Level 1: Introductory
 Requires the mastery of the ‘B’ Class.
 Can manage multiple relatively simple projects.
 Can manage single complex projects
 Communicates well and delegates work effectively.
Level 2: Moderate
 Can manage multiple moderately complex projects.
 Can read blueprints, and generate approximate material estimates for multiple
projects.
 Requires mastery of Level 1.
Level 3: High level
 Displays a high level of leadership/project management.
 Can manage most projects independently.
 Can estimate and inspect increasingly complex projects, and effectively
communicate the progress with others.
 Requires mastery of Level 2.
Level 4: Advanced
 Displays advanced and continuously improving leadership/project management.
 Very seldom needs help, and can effectively manage multiple very complex
projects.
 Can often design, estimate, execute, and inspect multiple very complex projects,
and communicate the results in a timely manner.
 Motivates team members to have a positive attitude, and to work with a sense of
urgency.
 Requires mastery of Level 3.
Level 5: Near-Perfect
 Employee shows near perfect track record for Attitude, Safety, House-Keeping,
Performance, Ability, and Attendance.



Employee has a record for consistently properly estimating, managing, and
completing multiple projects with success.
Employee not only consistently performs at a high level, but also motivates other
teammates to work at a high level as well.
Requires mastery of Level 4
Education and Experience Requirements:
An individual in this job must have attained a minimum of HS graduate/GED to meet entrylevel requirements. Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career
development activities.
The individual will have a minimum of 1-2 years industry experience or equivalent experience
in a similar industry.
