The Presidential Physical Fitness Award consists of 5 fitness tests which measure all areas of fitness. 1. Curl-ups– abdominal strength/endurance 2. Endurance run —heart/lung endurance 3. Push-ups—upper body strength/endurance 4. Shuttle run —leg strength/power/agility 5. Sit and Reach —lower back/hamstring flexibility Home Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits Teacher Page Introduction Cont. The Presidential Physical Fitness Award consists of 3 goalsetting categories—Presidential, National, and Participant. The Presidential Award is given to students who reach or exceed the 85th percentile on all 5 items on the test. The National Award is given students who reach or exceed the 50th percentile The Participant Award is given to students who complete the fitness test but do not exceed the 50th percentile on all test items. Your goal is to achieve the qualifying standards at the Presidential or National Level. Non-qualifying results are listed as reaching the Participant Level. Copies will also be provided for you. • Determine if each time/score falls into the Presidential or National level. Times/scores that do not qualify should be listed as participant. • Turn in all results in order to be eligible for awards. • Thank you for your participation!
