The Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University is the only comprehensive, integrated school of communication in Kansas! We combine the communication subfields of speech, journalism, and mediated communications in an integrated curriculum. ESC History In 1989, the school was established after a strategic plan and an endowed gift from Oliver and Betty Elliott. ESC History In 1995, the school secured private and public funds to build and equip a new building, Elliott Hall. ESC History In 2005, the school received from the Kansas Health Foundation the largest single gift to support faculty in the college. ESC Mission The Elliott School of Communication seeks to develop well-rounded communication professionals with essential skills-including the ability to think critically, plan strategically, and communicate effectively in multiple communication contexts.
