IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to enter for any purpose the RESTRICTED AREA (herein defined as the area to which admission to the general public is prohibited), the undersigned, for himself and the personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin:

Lincoln County, Star Valley EMT’s, Star Valley Medical Center, Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo, or the

Town of Afton, their officers and members, officials, car owners, drivers, participants, persons in the

Restricted Area, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of the premises used to conduct the event, and each of them , their officers and employees, all for the purposes herein referred to as

RELEASEES: and each of the undersigned releases said RELEASEES from all liability to the undersigned, his personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin for all loss or death of the undersigned, whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise while the undersigned is in or upon the Restricted

Area; and

2.

HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNITY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasees and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to the presence of the undersigned in or upon the Restricted Area and whether caused by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise; and

3.

HEREBY ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK of bodily injury, death and property damage due to negligence of Releasees or otherwise while in or upon the Restricted Area: and

4.

Each of the undersigned expressly agrees that the foregoing Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity

Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the state in which the event is conducted and that if any portion thereof is held invalid it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THIS RELEASE AND

WAIVER OF ALL LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, and further agrees that no real representation, statements, or inducements apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made.

The undersigned agrees to remove the Demo Derby vehicle from the Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo

Grounds by 12 midnight following the Derby on the evening of the __1st____ day of _____August__2010__.

If the vehicle is not removed in accordance with this agreement, the undersigned agrees to pay all necessary fees due for removal of said vehicle and releases the Star Valley EMT’s and Lincoln County from any liability or damages relating to said vehicle.

Rules and Regulations

2012

Please read carefully, there have been changes from the previous year.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Entry and Prizes:

1.

The entry fee is $50.00 per car. Entries will be accepted on first come, first entered basis. Car numbers will be confirmed by pre-registration only first entered number basis as well.

Duplication will not be permitted.

2.

There will be four heats limited to a maximum of 12 entries each. Total entries for the demolition derby will be limited to 48. It is highly recommended that you get your entry forms into the Star Valley EMT’s as soon as possible-don’t wait until August.

3.

This demolition derby will have $1000.00 added money. This year the top three placing will be paid. In addition, the trophy will be awarded to the grand champion.

4.

There will be a cash prize for the “BEST PAINTED CAR". The prizes are donated by the STAR

VALLEY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE, et al. Judging will take place in the pit area and the winner will be allowed to parade the car at beginning of the derby.

5.

A cash prize will also be awarded to the driver of any car that is rolled over.

Automobile Preparation:

1.

Any year, model or make of passenger car or station wagon may be used, except Chrysler

Imperial.

2.

Cars must be stock height. Lift kits are not allowed. Height of bumper may not exceed 24” from ground to bottom edge of bumper.

3.

All glass, plastic, and pot metal must be removed. Nothing may remain in the bottom of the doors, trunks. All outside hardware must be removed (door handles, mirrors, chrome, molding, screw, fiber glass, etc). Inner wagon panels may remain but all rear seats must be removed.

4.

No added weight to the car except the weld. No packing the frames, trunks, passenger doors or under floor decking.

5.

Front seats must be securely mounted to the floor and must have seat belts. All cars must have padding on driver’s door.

6.

All flammable materials inside the car must be removed, except necessary safety padding and seat.

7.

No antifreeze or other cooling additives--only water may be used.

8.

Minimal pre-bending of body and frame only.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Fuel pumps:

No pressure to fuel systems or electrical fuel pumps will be permitted, unless equipped with a manual shut off and approved by the Derby Chairman. All shut offs, must be clearly marked.

Tires:

1.

Tires must be automobile or truck tires. You may tube, screw, glue, tire inside of tire, flappers, and use recaps. Only air must be used to inflate your tires. Removal of all wheel weights is mandatory.

2.

You may weld valve stem protectors.

Brakes:

All cars must exhibit the ability to stop before entering the arena. If a car loses its breaking ability, it will be subject to disqualification.

Engines and rear ends:

1.

Engines must be in original position.

2.

Holes left in firewall more than 8in. x 8in. from removing the dash and heater must be covered to prevent fire hazards.

3.

No holes will be allowed in the floor of the car except to accommodate the transmission shifter, fuel and transmission lines and wiring. Shifters may be that tack welded or bolted. Patching holes is for safety, not reinforcement. If patching rust holes, you may use sheet metal not to exceed 2” past rusted area.

4.

Distributor protectors are allowed.

5.

Motor mounts may be welded; when making motor mounts to raise shift or use different motors in different cars, mounts cannot exceed original footprint of motor mount. Transmission and motors may be chained or strapped with no reinforcing of the engine frame cradle. No more than ONE fastener on each side of the motor may be used. If straps are used they may only be welded, within reason, to 3 inches per side of the frame. The section that is welded to the frame may not be any thicker than ¼ inch thick and 2” wide, and MAY NOT extend in front of the water pump or behind the engine block and more than 4 inches.

6.

You may tilt your rear end by shortening or lengthening rear end control arms; however, they must remain functional. Do not reinforce more than one inch past cut or extension area, must use metal of same thickness or less, no other welding other than the cut seam is allowed. Cuts must be made in the middle of the arms, and no metal added to the inside or ends of the control arms.

7.

Spider gear in rear end may be welded.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Securing:

1.

Only 3/8” rolled filler or 1” x 3/16 “ flat metal strap may be used for seam welding.

2.

Chain must be no larger than 3/8” when chaining.

3.

Only the zip screws or bolts not bigger than ¼” may be used around any hood cut out openings.

Must be spaced 12” apart.

4.

Bolting must be used to secure your hood and trunk the tailgate of a station wagon will be treated as a trunk. No. 9 wire may only be used in place of chain where chaining is allowed.

Doors and windows:

1.

Doors may be fully welded. All the exterior door seams may be welded or you may chain, at least twice per seam. If chaining or wiring, none may go through or around the frame.

2.

A protective bar may be placed inside or outside on the driver’s and/or passenger’s front door.

It cannot extend more than 6” past the driver’s door and passenger door on either side.

3.

One bar running from the roof down to the cowl or front dashboard bar is mandatory, centered on the front window. No more than two bars may be used. No rear window bars allowed.

4.

Door seams only may be a pinched and welded where the windows come up through. No added metal may be used.

5.

You may use a screen or netting over driver’s side front window and driver’s door only. Must be chicken wire type Material or netting.

Interior bars:

1.

All interior bars may not exceed a 6” outside diameter or have greater than 10” X 10” X ½” end plates. End plates are MANDATORY on all bars and must be welded in place, no bolting allowed.

2.

A bar behind the seat is mandatory (B post to B post). It must be located no more than 6” from the final resting place of your seat. Another bar from B post bracket to dash firewall is optional.

Another bar may be located in place of the dash (A post to A post).

3.

A minimum of one upright post or roll loop may be used. It must be attached only to the seat bar and roof and must be located behind the driver’s seat. You may also have one post from the seat bar to the floor pan. It may be welded or bolted to the floor, but can be located no more than one foot from either side of the center of the car. This is for safety so please make sure it is welded adequately or bolted.

4.

All bars in the proximity of the head should be padded.

5.

You may weld a connecting bar on the inside of the driver’s and passenger door only from front bar to the rear bar creating, in essence, a box.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Welding:

1.

The ONLY WELDING ALLOWED on the BODY SHEET METAL will be the door perimeter, trunk parameter, fender cut outs (see cut out rules) and driver side door reinforcement. Bumper shock of packs and brackets may be welded to the frame, bumper, and the shock itself, may be welded. Any welding ANYWHERE ELSE will lead to the IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION!

2.

No painting or undercoating may be used underneath the car.

3.

No inner seam welding or alterations to strengthen the frame or uni-body is allowed other than what is specified. a.

Exception is the inner rear panels of a wagon. They may be secured by FOUR 4” welds per panel seam. And a minimum of a 15” inspection hole must be made. b.

You may weld the floor pan seam under the gas and brake pedal only for safety, no filler may be used.

4.

All exterior hood and trunk seams may be fully welded. A seam is defined as two original exterior body to body lines on the doors, hood, and trunk and the front dashboard side of the hood only.

Bolting: a.

A seam runs from one corner to another, and is not continuous. b.

The tailgate of a station wagon will be treated as a trunk.

1.

Hoods cannot be welded, must be removed for inspection.

2.

Hood Attachment (See Hood rule #3) Option 2---No more than six bolts using 2” x 2” angle iron no longer than 6” per attachment. Option 3 --- 8—1 X 8” bolts may be used to secure hood through hood down through inside fender well. 2 - ¾” all thread may be used to go through front body mounts and radiator supports and through the hood with all options.

3.

As well as welding trunk lid you may use 2 bolts not to exceed 1” and 2 washers not to exceed

3” in diameter thru trunk lid and floor. Bolts and washers may not go through, around or touch the frame or uni-body.

4.

Bolts may not exceed ¾” diameter or 8” in length. (Bolts going through trunk lid and floor and radiators supports are the only exceptions).

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Chains:

1.

3/8” chain is allowed to secure front and rear bumpers to the frame. Only two chains may be used. It may loop through the hood or trunk. Excessive chaining (more than 2 wraps) will not be allowed.

2.

You may weld a 3” washer to the hood to run the chain through.

3.

You may use on the bumpers, in place of chain up to ¾” rolled steel or a 2” X 3/16” wide flat strap welded from the upper core support area of the hood to the chrome of the bumper. No more than 2 of these may be used per bumper. It may only be welded up to 6 inches on the body and on the chrome. If bolting hood or trunk, this cannot then be welded to the seam.

Bumpers:

1.

Stock O.E.M. bumpers of passenger cars must be used.

2.

Bumpers may be cut so they do not smash into the tires during the event. Chrome may be spot welded to the inner bumper box to keep it from separating.

3.

Bumpers may be flipped.

4.

Bumpers may be welded to the brackets.

5.

Bumper brackets may be welded to the frame. If swapping a bumper and brackets, or regional bracket and hardware must be removed or stay in stock a position with no welding or modification of original hardware other than trimming to accommodate new bracket and bumper. New bracket must remained vertical and attached to bumper. Only one bracket may be used to hold bumper on.

6.

Compression bumpers may be drained, slid back into the shock and welded fully.

7.

No material may be added, other than the weld.

8.

No chrome may be welded to the body on 1973 or newer bumpers. 1972 and older cars may weld original bumpers to the body using the third rule. This will apply to 1973 cars with noncompression rear bumpers.

9.

No welding of any kind other than straps and bumper brackets is allowed on the bumper.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Frame and Fender:

1.

There is no welding of or to the frame allowed other than the bumper brackets (see bumpers).

2.

If you cut the frame for pre-bending purposes, you may not weld the cut back together.

3.

No welding to the frame other than the bumper brackets and motor mounts.

4.

All body mounts (rubber biscuits and cone) and pucks must be stock, uncut and in place. You may not remove bolts and place washers on both sides.

5.

No buffing, grinding or packing of frames.

6.

Humps may be chained with one wrap, but may not be welded to the frame.

7.

No Chrysler sub-frame chaining other than the rear humps and on the front frame in front of the motor using only two wraps around the frame.

8.

No frame swaps allowed. Original frames must be used.

9.

No reinforcing of fenders.

10.

No sand will be permitted in the fenders. They will be drilled. If sand is found vehicle will be immediately disqualified. No exceptions.

Radiators:

1.

Radiators must be Automobile or truck radiators. NO HOMEMADE RADIATORS.

2.

Radiators must stay in the stock position. (No added water capacity).

3.

Only water may be used. No antifreeze or added coolants of any kind may be used.

4.

Upper Radiators supports may be bolted with 2 bolts with 3” washers. This may be done whether you use either if the hood bolting rules. (see rule #1 of hoods)

5.

Lower radiator support body mount bushings may be removed and replaced with a max. 1” bolt diameter. Bolt may go up thru the upper core support to be used in #3 above. Cars that do not have a lower radiator core support body mount or when the body mount is located in front of the core support may weld to the top of the frame a nut to screw the bolt into or burn a hole thru the frame behind the core support no more than ½” behind the core support in either case.

Nothing other than the nut to the frame may be welded.

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Transmission Coolers:

1.

Transmission coolers will be allowed.

2.

Proper hydraulic, metal, or steel braided line may be used.

3.

Condenser must be enclosed or covered.

4.

Overall safety will be determined by the officials at the time of inspection.

Gas Tanks:

1.

Original gas tanks must be removed from the car. If original tank is needed to operate with the engine fuel system (electrical fuel pumps) it must be mounted in the same location as any fuel tank. The amount of fuel in the tank is limited to 6.5 gallons.

2.

All electrical fuel systems will be equipped with a shut off switch in easy reach of the driver. All shut off’s must be clearly marked.

3.

You must have your gas tank securely mounted inside the car, behind the driver’s seat. We recommend covering gas tank. (No plumbers tape or bungee cords).

4.

A maximum size of 6.5 gallons can be used.

5.

Overall safety will be determined by the officials at the time of inspection.

6.

Gas cans must have a hose secured tightly and safely into the can. No silicone or duct tape.

Battery:

1.

Only an automotive type 12-volt battery may be used.

2.

Only one battery may be used on the car.

3.

It must be securely mounted inside the car in front of the passenger seat and COVERED.

4.

Box may not roll over or be bolted through the frame. Use of plumbers tape and or bungee cords is not allowed.

5.

Battery must be secure.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

Air Cleaners:

1.

You must have an air cleaner without filter over the carburetor at all times during the event.

2.

No starting fluid will be allowed.

3.

Mandatory- 2-- 8” x 8” holes on each side of carburetor for fire safety.

Cut Outs:

1.

Cut outs over the wheel wells are legal.

2.

Cut outs may be folded over no more than three times, these may be bolted. No welding of folds allowed.

3.

If cut outs are folded, you may be asked to cut an inspection hole in them.

4.

Only three 3/8” bolts with 1” fender washers or three 6” welds directly over the fender may be cut used.

5.

You must have two holes cut in the trunk lid for inspection-minimum of 8” diameter.

6.

If inspection holes and fire holes are determined to be too small, you will be asked to cut them larger.

7.

Mandatory- 2-- 8” x 8” holes on each side of carburetor for fire safety.

Trailer hitches:

1.

Trailer hitches and framework must be removed.

Suspension:

1.

Suspension must be original factory for that make and model of car. No pulling shocks and putting pipes in their place.

2.

No other means other than the tires and the spring spacers may be used to raise the car’s suspension.

3.

No adding reinforcements to the suspension.

4.

No putting leaf springs on top of the axle.

5.

You may not weld coil springs to the frame so they do not fall out. No filler may be used.

6.

You may not clamp the shocks-no solid suspension.

7.

No air shocks may be used.

8.

Suspension must work.

9.

No coil spring to leaf spring conversions allowed.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

10.

You are allowed 7 leafs maximum. All leafs after the main must be a minimum of 3” shorter than the one above it on each end. You may not put anything on top of the main leaf, except factory

OEM overload spring, in which case if using a 7 leaf spring pack you may not use an overload spring. Any clamps used to secure this spring will be considered one of the clamps in rule 11.

11.

You may use only 3 clamps total per leaf spring pack, no welding. Springs must be of passenger car origin. Clamps may be no wider than 3” using only one set of bolts per clamp.

Hoods:

1.

No welding of hood closed. Hoods must be able to open. Hoods will be removed during inspection.

2.

Cars must have engine compartment covered. May have up to 30” x 30” opening with the front of the engine covered (belts, hoses and pulleys). Hood openings may be folded no more than 3 times, secured with no more than 3-1/4” bolts per side (no welding of folds).

3.

Option 1---Hood may be secured with chains. Option 2--- No more than six bolts using 2” x 2” angle iron no longer than 6” per attachment. Option 3 --- 6-- ¾” x no longer than 8” bolts may be used to secure hood through hood down through inside fender well. 2 - ¾” all thread may be used to go through body front mounts and radiator supports and through the hood with all options.

4.

If hood is pulled forward and rolled, it may not be welded to anything in the front of the car.

Safety Belts:

Safety belts are compulsory. Cars must contain D.O.T approved seat belt. Seat and seat belts shall be attached securely to the floor. NOTE: seat belt grab or slack-adjusting ratchet MUST be removed or secured/blocked to prevent over tensioning of belt upon rear impact. ALL AIRBAGS must be disconnected or removed.

Drivers, Pit Crew and Pit Crew Area:

1.

ABSOLUTLELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be allowed in the pit area. As well, any driver OR pit crew member found with alcohol in his/her possession while on the Lincoln County

Fairgrounds, at any time that day will IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFY the DERBY CAR and DRIVER from the event.

2.

All Derby cars must be in the pit area NO LATER than _5_:00 pm on the day of the event, NO

late entrees will be allowed. Cars may not come onto the Lincoln County Fairground any earlier than 12:00 pm. (noon).

3.

All drivers and mechanics (pit Crew) MUST be 16 years of age or older, and must sign a liability release BEFORE entering the pit area. Parent Signature required for anyone under 18 years old.

4.

Mechanics (Pit Crew) must sign Liability Release before entering pit area. Parent Signature required for anyone under 18 years old.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

5.

Drivers will be given a wristband, identifying them as a driver. Wristbands will be handed out in the pit area after 12:00 noon.

6.

Each entry will be allowed to have no more than three (3) “pit crew passes” (wristbands) for their pit crew. Wristbands will be handed out in the pit area. If you have more people with you they will need to purchase Derby tickets to be at the Derby. Being associated with a Derby car does not guaranty availability of tickets for the Derby.

7.

Only the Derby car and one support vehicle will be allowed in the pit area. All other vehicles must park in regular parking or off grounds. There is not an unloading ramp available. Be sure you make necessary arrangements to unload and reload your own car.

8.

Derby cars must be removed from the Lincoln County Fairgrounds by 12:00 midnight the night of the Derby event. If the vehicle is not removed, the Star Valley EMS will have it removed at the Derby car driver’s expense.

Competition Regulation:

1.

ALL drivers must attend the “Drivers Meeting” to be held before the start of the first heat.

2.

Drivers must wear a helmet and goggles or a face shield to protect eyes from flying debris kicked up by spinning wheels.

3.

No passengers will be allowed to ride in the car at any time during the Demo Derby competition.

4.

NO car that is determined to be unsafe, such as spilled gasoline inside the car, shall be allowed into the arena. Any DOOR that opens during the event shall result in IMMEDIATE

DISQUALIFICATION of that car and driver.

5.

Someone must remain with the car in the pit area until it is passed off for entry, forms are signed and a “Action Flag” has been given to them. Once the car has been inspected and has received the flag, it will be lined up for it’s designated heat.

6.

Unsportsmanlike conduct may be grounds for DISQUALIFCATION for the present and FUTURE years.

7.

NO INTENTIONAL HITTING OF THE DRIVER’S DOOR WILL BE ALLOWED! You will be

DISQUALIFIED by the Derby Officials.

8.

Drivers MUST remain alert to signals by Field Judges. A black flag is sign of “DISQUALIFCATION” or “Out Of Action”. A red flag is an “EMERGENCY STOP” sign and all drivers MUST stop until signaled to continue.

9.

NO intentional hitting of cars with the “Action Flag” down will be permitted.

10.

Cars stalled more than two minutes will be declared “Out of Action”.

11.

Sandbagging (non-active drivers) will lead to DISQUALIFICATION.

12.

All cars must have numbers at least 10” high placed on each side of the car, on top and the deck lid. Sponsors may be painted on the car. No risqué or obscene sayings will be allowed.

13.

Every car should be equipped with a fire extinguisher.

If it is not listed as a specific modification or alteration to the derby cars in the rules,

IT IS NOT ALLOWED.

14.

Drivers will not be allowed to leave their cars UNLESS the car is turned over, on fire, or the driver is instructed to do so by Derby Officials.

15.

There will be a 30-minute repair break between the last regular heat and the “Loser’s Heat”

AND between the “Loser’s Heat” and the “Final Heat” (Main Event).

16.

All qualifying cars from the first heats will be “impounded” in the Bull Pen until the 30-minute repair break immediately prior to the “Final Heat” (Main Event). There will be no working on those cars prior to that time.

17.

Absolutely NO switching cars for the “Final Heat.” You must compete with the same car that you qualified in.

18.

Any protests or complaints will be taken to the Field Judges. All protests must be made

IMMEDIATLEY following the heat about which you are protesting.

19.

The Star Valley EMS reserves the right to make any necessary changes in rules, and give as much advance notice as possible if that happens.

Protest Rule:

If you wish to protest a driver’s car you must:

1.

Pay $200 to the head official and state your protest.

2.

Be specific on what you are protesting (you cannot protest the entire car).

3.

If protest is found to be true, you receive your $ back and the violating driver will be disqualified.

If protest is not substantiated by head inspector, you lose you $ and the driver being protested receives the $.

Figure “8” Races Rules and Regulations

2012

1.

The entry fee is $50.00 per car. Entries will be accepted on a first come, first entered basis.

2.

We will have a Powder Puff heat if we have a minimum of 6 entries! There will be 7 heats, limited to a maximum of 6 entries each. Heats are determined by number of total entries. Only the top cars of each heat will advance. There will be a Loser’s Heat before the semi-finals. Total entries for the Figure “8” Race will be limited to 42 cars.

3.

There will be cash prizes for the top three (3) “Best Painted Cars.” Judging will take place in the pit area and the winners will be allowed to parade their cars at the beginning of the race.

4.

This is a Jackpot Figure “8” Race includes all entry fees. The top three finishers will receive cash awards. In addition, a trophy will be awarded to the Grand Champion.

Automobile Set-Up Procedures

1.

Compact - Any small, front wheel drive 4-cylinder automobile is acceptable. Due to the size of the cars and the small running area, maximum wheelbase allowed is 104 inches.

No turbo engines allowed. NO PICK-UPS OR 4 X 4s ALLOWED.

Mid-size - Any wheelbase over 104 inches. Any stock engine. NO PICK-UPS OR 4 X 4s

ALLOWED.

2.

The ONLY WELDING ALLOWED on the BODY SHEET METAL will be the driver’s door. Any welding ANYWHERE ELSE will lead to IMMEDIATE

DISQUALIFICATION.

3.

Cars must be stock-no- “strippers”

4.

All chrome, fiberglass, die cast metal (i.e. head-,tail-& parking light assemblies) and

ALL glass Must be taken out and/or vacuumed out of the inside of doors, as well as the passenger compartment or trunk, to be free of any dirt, debris or fragments anywhere in the auto including the trunk. MUST be removed prior to entrance onto the Lincoln

County Fairgrounds.

5.

Driver’s door must be securely fastened at all times.

6.

MUST HAVE A LAP AND SHOULDER BELT. Cars must contain original functioning seat belt. Seat and seat belts shall be attached securely to the floor. NOTE: Seat belt grab or slack-adjusting ratchet MUST be removed or secured/blocked to prevent over tensioning of belt upon rear impact. ALL AIRBAGS MUST be disconnected or removed. Seat belts must be factory. Seat belt must be buckled before starting engine.

7.

Bumpers must be original. No push bumpers

8.

All cars must have numbers at least 10” high, placed on each side of the car, on top and the deck lid. Sponsors may be painted on the car. No risqué or obscene sayings will be allowed.

9.

Air pressure in tires must be at factory recommended air pressure. All four tires must be the same size.

10.

No antifreeze or additives-water only

11.

Driver’s window net is mandatory

12.

No holes are to be cut in roof-factory sunroofs only

13.

Driver’s door must be fluorescent orange or green and the rest of the car must be a different color.

Drivers, Pit Crew and Pit Crew Area

1.

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES will be allowed in the pit area. As well, any driver OR pit crew member found with alcohol in his/her possession while on the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, at any time that day, will IMMEDIATELY

DISQUALIFY the FIGURE “8” CAR and DRIVER from the event.

2.

All cars must be in the pit area NO LATER than 5:00 p.m. the day of the race. If your car arrives after 5:00 p.m. you will be disqualified

3.

All drivers and mechanics (pit crew) MUST be 16 years of age or older and must sign a liability release before entering the pit area. Parent signature required for pit crew members and drivers under the age of 18.

4.

Wristbands will be handed out in the pit area between 12:00 noon and 5:00. No pit crew changes allowed after noon the day of the race.

5.

Only the Figure “8” car, one support car and one trailer will be allowed in the pit area.

All other vehicles and trailers must be parked in the regular parking or off-grounds.

There is not an unloading ramp available. Be sure you make necessary arrangements to unload your own car.

6.

All cars have to be removed from the Lincoln County Fair Grounds no later than

2:00pm Sunday the 29th. “DRIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CAR

REMOVAL”

Competition Regulations

1.

All drivers must attend the “Drivers Meeting” to be held at 6:30 p.m.

2.

Drivers must wear a helmet and goggles or a face shield to protect eyes from flying debris kicked up by spinning wheels.

3.

No passengers will be allowed to ride in the car at any time during the Figure “8” competition.

4.

No car that is unsafe shall be allowed into the arena.

5.

Someone must remain with the car in the pit area until it is passed off, forms are signed and a red flag has been given to them. Once the car has been inspected and received the red flag, it will be lined up for its designated heat.

6.

Unsportsmanlike conduct may be grounds for DISQUALIFICATION for the present and

FUTURE events.

7.

NO INTENTIONAL HITTING OF THE DRIVER’S SIDE DOOR WILL BE

ALLOWED. You will be DISQUALIFIED.

8.

Drivers MUST remain alert to signals by the Field Judges. A black flag is sign of

DISQUALIFICATION. A red flag is an EMERGENCY STOP sign and ALL drivers

MUST stop until signaled to continue. A green flag is sign indicating it is okay to go. A yellow flag means slow down and no position changes.

9.

Drivers will not be allowed to leave their cars UNLESS the car is turned over, on fire, or the driver is instructed to do so by Figure “8” Officials.

10.

There will be a 20 minute repair break after the preliminary heats.

11.

Absolutely NO switching cars for the semifinals or winners heats. You MUST compete with the same car that you qualified in.

12.

The winner is determined by the first car to cross the finish line after a pre-determined number of laps. Therefore, cars must remain in a forward motion EXCEPT if a bottleneck occurs at a corner. Reverse will be allowed to clear the corner only.

Deliberate contact while in reverse will result in DISQUALIFICATION.

13.

You can be disqualified for the following: a.

Leaking gas b.

Hung-up on a berm c.

Reckless driving d.

Leaving the Figure “8” e.

Sitting dead on the course f.

Fire g.

Intentionally leaving the Figure “8” pattern to intentionally hit another car

14.

We will use a Le Mans start. Drivers will complete 15 laps in the first races. Drivers will complete 20 laps in the Winner’s Heat.

15.

If a car is pushed into the berm, the race will be stopped and the car will go to the rear of the pack and the race will be restarted. Cars will be aligned bumper to bumper. A car will be eliminated after being pushed into the berm three times.

16.

Any protests or complaints will be taken to the Field Judges. All protests must be made

IMMEDIATELY following the heat about which you are protesting. All judges’ decisions are final.

17.

The Lincoln County Fair Board reserves the right to make any necessary changes in rules and will give as much advance notice as possible if that happens.

TRUCK CLASS RULES

1. Any Standard 2 wheel Truck with beds are allowed. Any Standard 4 wheel

Truck with beds and the front drive line removed are allowed. No trucks will be allowed that have been lifted. If you have any questions please call first.

2. ALL GENERAL STANDARD CAR BUILDING RULES APPLY, See Car Rules .

3. Any fiberglass roofs or shells must be removed and car stripping rules will apply.

4. Driver’s door, door posts and back window frame near the driver must be padded.

5. DOOR BARS ARE MANDATORY ON Drivers door

6. For Trucks with beds:

A. Bed must be bolted with 4 - 5/8 inch bolts and washers to the cab to maintain the integrity of the gas tank mounting area. The bed can be welded as well as bolted.

B. A 6 gallon (max) fuel cell or metal gas tank must be mounted at the front of the bed. A spreader bar with end plates MUST be welded in near the tank at the front of the bed to protect the tank. Bar must be no more than 3’ behind the cab.

Tank should be covered to prevent gas from splashing in case of rupture.

7. A secure net is optional but suggested for the back window of single cab trucks to prevent whiplash.

8. All tail gates must be fully welded.

9. If truck has a beam type bumper it may not be welded to the body. You may weld a “tin” type bumper to the body. (Call if you have questions)
