Career Opportunities
There were three postings I found related in the fields of accounting which were (1) accounting
manager, (2) revenue accountant, (3) accountant/operations.
An accounting manager's must manage accounting operations, accounting close, reporting,
reconciliations, and the annual external audit. The candidate must be very hands-on and oversees all the
activities of the entire department. There are many responsibilities that include: (1) review audit
reports; identify issues & solutions for improve efficiency, (2) prepare monthly and annually financial
statements and coordinate year end audit, (3) coordinate and monitor month end process to ensure
posting accuracy on all accounting activities, (4) prepare and review corporate tax filing, sales & used tax
filing, inventory reconciliation & adjustment, monthly sales report analyses, (5) participate on annual
budgeting & forecasting; prepare & analyze on actual vs forecast for expenses & gross margin variances,
(6) provide coaching & mentoring to employees and continuous feedback as part of the Company’s
performance appraisal process and personnel development progress, and (7) provide proactive
interactions with management team. There is no listed starting salary however there are educational
requirements that must be met such as: (1) 3+ years of experience, (2) bachelor degree in accounting or
related field, (3) supervisory experience required, (4) strong analytical abilities, (5) excellent verbal
communication skills, (6) ability to organize workload for effective implementation, (7) strong ability to
adapt to a fast pace environment, and (8) a preferred CPA certification.
A revenue accountant's duty is to give accurate reports with responsibilities that include: (1) prepare
and enter monthly revenue journal entries, (2) analyze, calculate and record A/R reserves, (3) prepare
monthly roll forward schedules and account reconciliations of general ledger accounts including
accounts receivable, revenue, and deferred revenue accounts, (4) prepare quarterly flux analysis for
revenue and reserve accounts, and (5) work with Sales Department to ensure revenue is recorded
completely and accurately. There is no listed starting s salary however there are educational
requirements that must be met such as: (1) 3-5 years experience as a revenue accountant, preferably
with a public high-tech company, (2) bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field , (3)
experience with collections and high volume credit card processing, including chargebacks, (4) strong
communication, organizational and management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks in
a fast-paced environment, (5) experience in preparing for annual audits and working with external
auditors, (6) hands-on team player with the ability to work under pressure in an aggressive, growth
oriented culture, (7) proven analytical and process improvement skills, and (8) proficient with Excel,
including complex formulas and pivot tables.
An accountant/operations person's duty is to assist owner with day to day operations. The requirements
for the job include: (1) must have a Bachelor's degree from major college, (2) experienced in EXCEL
spreadsheets, (3) willing to work more than 40 hrs. per week, (4) very computer literate, (5) well
organized, and (5) timely reporting of month-end closings to owner. The starting salary for this job is
80,000 /yr.
