Topic Proposal 1: Part-Time Tutors for IEP students in AIU
Problem Statement:Being wise or having knowledge cannot be fixed or measured by ageing.
It is never too young or too old in learning. This is the point for my idea. Here, in AIU, there
are many students enrol year by year. The teaching system of AIU is too excellent. There are
three stages of academic plan in AIU, known as IEP, FSP and UGP. Still there, there are
some students left whose English background is too poor. The hidden reason can be their
education system in hoe country. Therefore, the problem is that they need someone to reflect
or revise their learning in their spare time. They need someone just to give them an idea in
learning and manage their studying in case their lecturers are not available on that time when
they need favour. As we all know the lecturers from AIU are quite busy and fix with their
schedule. There are some students who dare not asking anything to lecturer. In all this case,
we need a solution for their study, and the key is to get volunteer tutors from whether FSP or
UGP. Action Plan: I will establish AIU tuition for IEP students to help in their study and
eaing in English. I can ask volunteer through online survey and gather the volunteers from
FSP and UGP. I will count the number of IEP students who need a help from tutors and on
the other side, I will count the number of volunteers from FSP and UGP. Moreover, I will fix
a time which will be the most convenient for both mentors and mentees. I will lead this idea
for all and discuss with lecturers to get more other instruction. Output Descriptions: I will
draw a poster to highlight how education is important in life. The poster might have a big
word illustration about ‘EDUCATION” and the output as a “BRIGHT FUTURE”. Then, I
will design an advertisement about the new tuition system in AIU. Afterward, I will make a
moviemaker about the tutors, mission, visions, and systems about AIU tuition system in order
to distribute the message to all AIU students. Target audience: The main target of this
proposal intends to IEP students of AIU. However, this project plan is beneficial for both
mentors and mentees. Moreover, it won’t be a burden for AIU financial department and also
helping in a way to our lecturer. Therefore, the intention is for all AIU family. Green
element: In my opinion, helping each other with the feeling of humanity is the most blissful
idea in life. Comparing to the all green elements in this world, making a life to go green is the
most effective one. Helping someone in need and encouraging his/her life to go green, then
seeing a life is being fresh and perfect because of our small hand in help. This kind of feeling
will left unforgotten memories in life. Resource Requirements: The proposal is just simple
and effective. All I need is volunteers from FSP and UGP. Moreover, I will ask permission
from AIU management to allow us to use a room for tuition. I will ask a favour from
management to provide the tables, chairs, whiteboard, marker pens, air condition and light.
Degree Relevance: I am a computer science student so I will make online survey from Doc
online and distribute to every AIU students via Facebook. After getting their response, I will
make a movie maker and online presentation. I will use pdf, PowerPoint, window live
moviemaker for my project. Original Concepts: The original idea is invented in my home
country, Myanmar. As we all know, our ruling system is military government and there is
restriction in education system and human rights. Therefore, our country seems to be
undeveloped one in educational field. In order to rise up the children life, many humanitarian
try to establish home tuition for the sake of those disadvantaged children life. Sourced

about how tutoring can effect positively on education and learning for students.
Topic Proposal 2: Amazing Health Benefits of Watermelon
Problem Statement:Watermelon seem to be the most popular fruit in the world because it is
easy to plant, cheap to buy and tasty to eat for everyone.Especially most of the people in
Myanmar enjoy eating a big piece of thirst-quenching watermelon on a hot day; it is so
refreshing. Moreover, there are surprising health benefits of eating watermelon, for example,
it fights infection and soot the stress. In contrast, the negative benefits are also stated.
However, some people get into trouble by eating watermelon because they don’t know the
cons of eating it. So, here is my proposal, I would like to highlight both the pros and cons of
eating watermelon so that people can have an idea of when to eat it and how to avoid the
negative sequences. The intention of my proposal will favour to inform the AIU family
because watermelon is the fruit that mostly served in our university canteen. Action Plan: I
will design the poster which illustrates the positive and negative consequences of eating
watermelon. Moreover, the poster will be written in 10 languages for the sake of verbal
communication. Those 10 languages seem to present for a diverse communication patterns of
different countries. AIU is influenced by multicultural climate and most of the students come
from different parts of the world. In this case, those 10 languages will help all the students
and staffs to comprehend completely about the message of my poster. The languages are
English, BahasaMalayu, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Guniea, Myanmar, Thailand, Hindi, and
Tamil. Product Descriptions: (1) The poster will have a meaningful illustration in order to
grab the audience attention and send the purposeful message to them. A big watermelon with
a health benefit sign at the top and down part is a crack watermelon design which represents
the diabetes sign. (2) The product poster can have three columns: the right column can show
the benefits, the middle column can show the tomato components, while the left column can
show the contraindications. However, I will provide the address of any reference of the
information about my proposal at the bottom of the poster. Target Receivers: The primary
targets seem to be our AIU family including staffs and students because watermelon is
frequently served as a dessert in AIU canteen almost every day. The purpose of using
different 10 languages appears to design for non-English speaking staffs and some of the new
IEP students. However, my main target in AIU community. Green Element: The poster will
be designed in Microsoft PowerPoint. It can also be designed in Paint accessories too. In
addition, I will put some suggestion about paper recycling and go green planting of
watermelon somewhere in my poster illustration. I believe that if many people get to know
about the benefits of eating watermelon, they will start afraid to lose it and try to plant it more
than before. This appears to be the basic idea of go green project. Resource Requirements: I
can manage to distribute the poster designs in three weeks and then I will ask permission to
post them on the wall of the AIU canteen in order to get the awareness from AIU family
members. I hope authorities from AIU also can manage planting watermelon in the campus to
reduce the budget spending on fruit and also for the sake of avaibility. The overall cost to
spend on my project posters is around RM50 including ink, paper and printing costs. This
amount doesn’t seem to be a huge financial burden for AIU financial department because the
information is more worthy than the cost. It will be a good idea if I can encourage students to
eat watermelon for their health benefits with limitation. Degree Relevance: As being a
Computer Science student, I will alive my posters with technology advance. I will put videos
and multimedia transitions including PowerPoint presentations for my project explanation.
My intention is just to send a clear and effective message to the receivers. Original Concepts:
Even with our general cognitive thinking, we can imagine that how the negative effect of
eating watermelon will affect people. Awareness is not something we can get easily.
Reminding can stimulate the idea of awareness on something dangerous for people. For
example, eating watermelon together with duck egg can present to death. However, if we are
not conscious about it or we just slip our mind, we can definitely get into the dangerous
situation in life. Watermelon is a tasty fresh fruit so it seem to be more rarely to aware its
negative effects for people. Sourced Information: There are many websites which state
about the advantages and disadvantages of eating watermelon. We can have much
information regarding to this topic. The reliable sources address the positive effects outweigh
the negative effects of eating watermelon.
Topic Proposal 3: Eating mangos teen and sugar may present to death.
Problem Statement:Mangosteen seems to be a where sugar is the source of enhancing
glucose level in body. Both of them are nutrients and health benefits to people in their own
way. However, there is a condition which is that combination of eating those two may present
death. Therefore, the problem statement is to be aware of eating things together which can
change to toxic in our boy. Not only in Myanmar, but also in Malaysia, mangosteen and
sugar are eaten as a common dessert in many ways. Therefore, in my proposal, I would like
to inform that sugar and mangosteen shouldn’t eat together which can easily take away our
life. Action Plan: I will draw a nice design of poster to figure out the danger of eating
mangosteen and sugar together. I will distribute that poster to all students in AIU on the
Friday agenda so that they all will keep the awareness together with them by posting on the
wall of their room. By spreading words, they can remind their family in order to avoid from
being in danger. Moreover, I will try to ask permission to post those big posters in canteen
and also in hostels. Products Descriptions: (1) The hang poster may have three big pictures
of mangosteen, sugar stone and the illustration of sugar dissolved in mangosteen. The words
will be written on those pictures. The first illustration will show the ingredient nutrients and
compounds of sugar as well as its benefits of eating it. Then, the second demonstration will
show the health benefits and ingredients of mangosteen. After all, the third sketch will
highlight which ingredients of sugar favour to be a toxic after combination with some
ingredient of mangosteen. (2) The poster will be drawn in one big picture of mangosteen
then the sign of plus “+” and a clear picture of sugar, after that an equal sign ‘=”, then the
picture of toxic (a bone of a head). Example, “mangosteen + sugar = toxic”. However, I will
provide a complete detail of sources for more information about my topic somewhere in my
poster. Target audience: The main target of this proposal is to stimulate the awareness of
AIU family on eating foods with care. However, by spreading the message from one to one,
this message will spread out to every people for the sake of communication. Therefore, this
proposal focuses on the every level of people in this world. For the point of educated and
uneducated problem, I will plan to solve it by putting an English written poster and a plain
meaningful demonstration. I will distribute verbal and non-verbal communication in order to
send my message to audience. Green Element: After getting to know about the benefits of
eating mangosteen, I would like to suggest to plant mangosteen tress in AIU campus.
Moreover, as a method of recycling, we don’t need to buy the seed of mangosteen
additionally to plant. After eating the mangosteen which canteen served us, then we can just
use our leftover or seeds of the mangosteen. I would like to recommend the AIU authorities
to decorate the beauty environment of AIU campus by creating a cultivated garden since
there is one major called “Agriculture” is coming to AIU soon. Many students who interest
about agricultures will taking care of the trees and make the AIU green. Resource
Requirements: The proposal can be completed preparing in 3 week. This project doesn’t
need much people to figure out the complete message to audience. Moreover, it just needs
around RM100 in order print and get the paper distribution. In addition, we would like to ask
some equipment that requires cultivating the plants and trees. I am sure that overall amount
won’t be excess than RM200. Degree Relevance: I am a computer science student so I will
relate my project to my course by adding effective visual aid and PowerPoint slides.
Moreover, I will do a moviemaker which will present about mangosteen, sugar, their effects
and go green plan. Original Concepts: The reliable sources show that mangosteen and sugar
can be easily cultivated in anywhere in this world. So, the original source of this project is
valid and reasonable for everyone in this world who eats mangosteen and sugar. I will
distribute informative poster. Sourced Information: Just a click on internet research, we can
easily find out the proofs that mention eating mangosteen and sugar may present death.
