Senior engineer with over sixteen years of progressively responsible supervisory, complex project management
and technical design positions. Broad based responsibilities in structural engineering with tremendous amount of
experience in Structural Concrete and experience in structural steel.
Industries: Commercial and residential High-rise Buildings (<25 story), Oil & gas Refinery, Gas fields,
Petrochemical, heavy industrial, Educational buildings, Healthcare etc.
Design Standards & Codes: Comprehensive knowledge of ACI-318, UBC-97, ANSI and AISC.

Lead a group of four to six engineers and a team of drafters in structural design of numerous high and low rise
commercial, residential, educational and industrial buildings, including new construction & strengthening and
repair of existing structures. Duties included but were not limited to coordination involving critical structural
issues among the architects, project management team, client representative and services consultants and to ensure
timely resolution of any structural issues prior to and during construction. Played a key role in vetting of structural
design and drawings. Last but not least, as a senior engineer, I mentored six fresh engineering graduates during my
stay with this consulting firm.

JGC-Descon Engineering (pvt.) Ltd. ~ Karachi, Pakistan
Managed a team of two engineers and two draftsmen in structural design of heavy civil industrial
projects. Highlights of my career with JGC-Descon included but was not limited to the preparation of
structural design calculation folder, gave direction to supporting drafter while using AutoCAD &
Micro-station, coordination & timely resolution of any structural issues prior to & during construction
among other design discipline & client representative, design and analysis of complex pipe rack system,
misc. pipe & equipment supports, plat form including foundation, for an oil & gas refinery in Vietnam
(Dung Quat Refinery). In addition to this, checked adequacy of the existing pipe supports, heat
exchanger support, lead the design work for De-Butanizar tower, condenser & checking reinforcement
of oil separator etc. , for other heavy industries & El-wastani gas field. Occasionally travel to site for
information gathering & visited near equipment & machinery.

My short stay with this firm involved analysis and design of various high rise buildings and to carry out condition
assessment , possibility of adding two floors, & design of structural system etc. of the existing Hyatt Regency
Hotel to be converted into an office complex NCEL. The study consisted of extensive site visit to inspect the
existing condition of building left exposed for 30 years, review of all the available drawings, gravity & seismic
analysis, coring, testing of specimen of concrete, exposing some bars & Schmidt hammer test etc.

I was assigned to a Deep Water Port in Gwadar, Pakistan (Gwadar Port) as a Senior Structural Engineer.
I was in-charge for structural design and preparation of construction drawings of buildings comprising of
various Port Authority head office and other operational buildings. Due to the geological location of this
project, I spent significant amount of time designing various foundation systems including piling . I also
reviewed drawings and coordinated with designers responsible for work related disciplines of these
buildings.

I started out as a junior engineer with this firm and was quickly promoted as an intermediate design
engineer on reinforced concrete and steel structures. Besides working with a team of engineers and
draftsmen on commercial, industrial, and residential projects, I performed designing, detailing and
analysis as an individual. I was mentored by the principal engineer who gave me the opportunity to assist
in all aspects of structural designing.
