Canada, the USA and Chile and is currently constructing the Sierra Gorda copper-molybdenum project in Chile,

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Metallurgist to further the Ajax Project by providing their
technical expertise within these primary areas: pre-loading engineering support, key role as part of owner’s
team in detailed engineering (with external engineering firm), leading and development of metallurgical test
programs, project planning, project management. Critical to this project are the Environmental Assessment
Process and design criteria inputs to EPCM.
Responsibilities:







Report writing
Size and specify major process equipment
Provide expertise through engineering phases from conceptual design, front-end engineering and
detailed design
Conduct engineering process design, limited feasibility/ prefeasibility engineering studies, trade-off
studies, and cost analysis
Prepare process calculations and develop PDF’s, GA, Material balances & P&IDs.
Assist in designing metallurgical test program containing bench scale and pilot plant workings.
Factor in safety considerations to mine planning activities according to risk profile that is in line with
the company’s HSE standards.
Requirements:






Undergraduate degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Applied Science. Masters, PhD, or further
degrees in related disciplines are an asset.
7 – 10 years’ experience in operations or project development environment involving gold/copper
deposits
Demonstrated strong technical skills, supplemented with experience in mining project process
development
Experience with copper sulphide flotation (design of bench test), large mill operation and project and
flowsheet development.
Commissioning expertise in crushing and milling operations.
Experience with improving process design of global milling technologies
This is a full time temporary position for three to five years, located in Kamloops BC. The salary range for this
position is $100,000-$120,000 per annum. Basic and extended benefits and participation in the RRSP plan are
