If you are using a Serial cable (gray or black) this is not necessary. NOTE: Backup does not include Flash applications or OS. • Restores backup files connected TI device. You can add borders, resize or copy image to the clipboard. Double-click the picture file to manipulate it in Screen Capture. March 2002 Texas Instruments, Inc. 19 TI connect Tricks Drag and drop files between Device Explorer, Data Editor, Group Explorer and Screen Capture, as well as your desktop, folders on your desktop and Windows Explorer In Device Explorer, you can switch devices or cables and simply hit the refresh option to see the directory of your new device. TI Connect is a free download from the web site at education.ti.com/ticonnect. It will also be included in future released of TI’s resource CD. It will also come packaged with the new products along with a TI-GraphLink™ USB cable. 2. Does TI Connect work with Windows 3.x operating system? You will need to use TI-GraphLink™ Software for Windows 3.x Operating system. 3. Can I use my USB cable with the TI-GraphLink™ software? TI-GraphLink™ software does not support USB functionality. March 2002 4. Is TI Connect going to replace the TI-GraphLink™ software? No, TI-GRAPH LINK™ software will still be available for our users. You will still need the software for the following reasons: Windows 3.x users will need to use TI-GRAPH LINK™ software. TI Connect can be used only for Windows 98 and above. Users will need to use TI-GRAPH LINK™ software for using the program editor functionality. This will be added in a future release of TI Connect software. Users will also need to use TI-GRAPH LINK™ software to get the TI device ID from the device. 5. Do I need to have an active Internet connection all the time? No. You will need the Internet connection only when you are using the Updates function or if you are downloading an App or OS from the TI Online Store.
