Step 1 • You and a partner will be creating a poster of a food web. • You will be working with a particular biome. • You will be assigned a particular biome based on the following map. This will help you determine the plants and animals located in your biome. Step 2 • Divide your poster paper into 3 sections Draw your Food web in the center section of your poster paper.(You can put just the words) Step 4 • You will add organisms that live in the that biome. • Make sure to include plants and animals. Add the labels on the other sections. Producers Food Chains 1. Consumers Primary: 2. 3. Energy Pyramid Secondary: Tertiary: Herbivores Carnivores Omnivores Add arrows to your food web. Remember to point them in the directions of the energy flow. Producers Food Chains 1. Consumers Primary: 2. 3. Energy Pyramid Secondary: Tertiary: Herbivores Carnivores Omnivores Using your food web, identify the producers, consumers, herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores Producers Food Chains 1. Grasses 2. Consumers Primary: lemming 3. Energy Pyramid Secondary: hawk Tertiary: wolf Herbivores Arctic hare Carnivores wolf Omnivores human List 3 food chains that are found in the food web. Producers Food Chains 1. Grasses Lichen lemming hawk wolf 2. Consumers Primary: lemming 3. Energy Pyramid Secondary: hawk Tertiary: wolf Herbivores Arctic hare Carnivores wolf Omnivores human Create an Energy pyramid for one of the food chains in your food web. Producers Food Chains 1. Grasses Lichen lemming hawk wolf 2. Consumers Primary: lemming 3. Energy Pyramid Secondary: hawk Tertiary: wolf wolf Herbivores Arctic hare Carnivores wolf Omnivores human hawk lemming lichens Step 10 • After completing your food web, you will receive a card with a scenario. • On a separate piece of paper, describe what would happen to your environment and food web based on that scenario. Be sure to include all abiotic and biotic factors that would be included in the biome and how they would be affected by the disaster. Oil Spill Heavy Rain Fire Plant Species is infected with a deadly bacterium A new predator of primary consumers is introduced into the ecosystem 23 Food webs Poster 9/10-11/2014 Food Webs Poster 9/10-11/2014 Application/ Connection: Starter: Food Web Poster Glue Starter Here 9/10/14 Glue Starter Here Practice: Notes 9/11/14 Exit: 9/10 Explain the difference between Food Web and Food Chain Abiotic 9/11 Biotic 24 209 Food webs Poster 9/10-11/2014 Glue Starter Here 9/10/14 Practice: Notes Abiotic Biotic 210 9/10-11/2014 Application/ Connection: Starter: Glue Starter Here Food Webs Poster 9/10/14 Food Web Poster Exit: 9/10 Explain the difference between Food Web and Food Chain 9/11: Explain how human activities can affect the stability of an ecosystem
