Murat previously worked in business development, product management and engineering roles at

Previously, he worked as a software engineer at Intra Information Technologies, a startup company

Wouter is a Principal at Atomico, responsible for deal sourcing and helping portfolio companies with
business development. He also manages the Open Office outreach program, which is a global
program to encourage entrepreneurship, expand Atomico's network to benefit portfolio companies,
and find new investment opportunities.
He was previously a serial entrepreneur and angel investor, and has a passion for technology
companies, entrepreneurship, and new business models. In 2004, he founded BST Company, an
investment company in the Netherlands that helped develop start-ups, and then worked as an angel
investor. In these roles he backed companies including o.a. Yellotell (sold to Truvio), social, 1dayfly,
and zecco.
Wouter has an MSc degree in Business Administration from RSMErasmusUniversity in Rotterdam. He
was involved in setting up two university incubators. He has also advised the Netherlands

Michael Jeon is the head of Samsung Ventures Europe, based in London, where he is looking for
opportunities in consumer IT, mobile/wireless, digital media and certain areas in clean-tech and
medical technologies. Prior to moving to London, Michael was with Samsung Ventures America,
where he was involved in the boards of Envivio, LiveMedia, Widevine (acquired by Google), Sibeam,
PureDigital (acquired by Cisco), Impinj, ForteMedia, and Ubicom. His latest investments at SVE
include Cambridge Broadband Networks in the UK and Novaled AG in Germany. Michael holds a BS
EECS from University of California, Berkeley, an MS from Carnegie Mellon University, and an MBA

Khaldoon Tabaza, Founder & CEO, Zad Capital
Khaldoon is the Founder and CEO of Zad Capital, a venture capital platform focused on the Internet,
technology, and media industries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In January, 2010,
Abraaj Capital acquired Khaldoon's pervious firm, Riyada Ventures, a venture capital firm that he
established in 2005, which won the award for the best venture capital in MENA in 2008 and 2009.
Throughout his career, Khaldoon has been involved in 60+ SME and Venture Capital engagements,
including co-founding, managing, and advising SME firms and investment funds in Jordan, Egypt,
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and United States. Sectors of expertise include technology, media,
telecommunication, Internet, and healthcare. A self-made entrepreneur, Khaldoon in 1994
established Arabian Communications and Publishing. In 1997, he started Arabia Online, the first
regional portal focused on the Arab world, attracting investments from the likes of Prince Alwaleed
Bin Talal, Intel Capital, and HP. In 2000, he lead the establishment of IDEAVELOPERS, Egypt's first
technology incubator and early stage fund. During the period from 2003-2005 Khaldoon worked for a
Saudi Arabia based group to build Internet business. In 2005, he startedf Riyada Ventures. Riyada
Ventures was acquired by Abraaj Capital, and he joined the Abraaj Capital Group as the CEO of
Riyada Enterprise Development. In addition to Riyada Ventures’ experience, firms that Mr. Tabaza
has invested in personally include Arab Advisors Group, MediaScope, KindiSoft, and Gate2Play,
Shawweet.com, and iKitab. In 2006, he was selected as a Young Global Leader by the Young Global

Daniel Lynch is the managing partner of 3TS and is primarily responsible for originating, executing

Technology for the AIG New Europe Fund based in Warsaw. He has continuously lived and worked in

Frank joined Hummingbird Ventures as a Managing Partner in November 2000 during the capital
raising process of the team's first fund (then called Big Bang Ventures).

Racktivity. He was the chairman of DataCenterTechnologies (acquired by Symantec) and Q-layer
(acquired by Sun Microsystems) and a director on the board of Avinity (acquired by ActiveVideo

Prior to joining Hummingbird Ventures, Frank was CEO of ExpertEyes in Mountain View, CA, where
he helped US software companies to expand into Europe. In 1998, he spun off a team of developers
from a systems integrator and created Syfact International, acting as its CEO. In 1995, Frank created
the Benelux distributor for Gentia Software, which he sold to the mother company in 1997. Prior to

Development experience with Panasonic, Automotive Systems, Ford Motor Company, Visteon, EDS,
and US Air Force. Along with various Automotive "Real Time" Embedded Systems Applications and

Baris has been the CEO of Hip Digital Media since 2008. Prior to joining Hip Digital Media, Baris was a
venture capitalist for ten years, at U.S. Venture Partners, a leading Silicon Valley based venture
capital firm and at Fuse Capital. As a VC, Baris invested in a wide variety of industries including digital
media, telecommunications and semiconductors. Baris' recent board seats/investments include: Hip
Digital Media, Like.com (Acquired by Google), SpectraLinear (acquired by SiLabs NASDAQ:SLAB),
Minerva Networks, Redline Communications (LSE: REDL) and Aspendos Communications (Acquired

capital firm and at Fuse Capital. As a VC, Baris invested in a wide variety of industries including digital
media, telecommunications and semiconductors. Baris' recent board seats/investments include: Hip
Digital Media, Like.com (Acquired by Google), SpectraLinear (acquired by SiLabs NASDAQ:SLAB),
Minerva Networks, Redline Communications (LSE: REDL) and Aspendos Communications (Acquired
by Beceem Communications). Baris is still an angel investor and advisor to a number of startups in
Silicon Valley. Before becoming a venture capitalist, Baris worked in both engineering and marketing
at 3Com/U.S. Robotics, where he developed software for the company's networking and cable
modem products. His efforts at U.S. Robotics resulted in a number of U.S. patents. Baris served on
the board of directors of “Friends of Anatolia”, a nonprofit that restored and renovated a number of
on elementary schools in rural Turkey. He is also the founder of “Nature Turkey”, a nonprofit
promoting conservation ecology in northern Turkey. Active in the Turkish business community, Baris
has been a long time advisor to the Turkish American Business Connection (TABC), the premier
business organization in the West Coast promoting collaboration between the US and Turkey. Baris
also is the Silicon Valley advisor to Turkcell, Turkey’s largest wireless operator, on matters of

his 19 years on The Economist he has had several other reporting and editorial roles including a twoyear stint in Germany and spells as finance editor, economics editor and business briefings editor. He
has written several special reports for the magazine: the latest, on geography and technology, is due
in October 2012. (He says, however, that a report on the sports business, in 2008, was the most fun
to write.) He has a first-class degree in economics from Cambridge and a doctorate, also in

Andrei Tarnea is a career diplomat, having joined the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998.
His diplomatic career includes working in bilateral affairs, serving with the ministry's spokesperson,
and as head of the early warning unit in the policy-planning department. He was advisor to the
foreign minister between 2002 and 2004. Previously, he worked for the Centre for Policy Studies and
Comparative Analysis, and co-led a political and social affairs think tank. He also worked in the
private sector and the Romanian Senate, where he served as an advisor and researcher with the legal
affairs committee. During 1996, he was the executive director for a mayoral electoral campaign in
Bucharest. He was on foreign posting in Brussels between 2004 and 2010, as director of the
Romanian Information Centre in Brussels, and Councilor to Romanian Embassy. In 2007 he took on
the role of director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Brussels and he served as vice president and
then president of EUNIC Brussels between 2008 and 2010. Andrei Tarnea studied clinical and social
psychology in Bucharest. He has a master in international law from the Fletcher School and
additional studies in European policy and policy assessment at Harvard's Kennedy School of
Government.

Bora Aytun is the CEO of MAVI Interactive, LLC, which he co-founded in 2008, specializing in
Immersive Learning simulations and Serious Games. MAVI Interactive won the the Gold Stevie Award

the worlds premier business awards competition. The Stevie award-winning program Agent Surefire,
first released in 2010, is a series of immersive cyber-security training games that allow training to

He is also the co-founder of MAVI Film, specializing in Internet/TV broadcast integration and B2B
