Course Description: DBC 2 is a project-based curriculum that teaches the professional web design and development
process. It focuses on developing career and communication skills in print and graphic design using Adobe tools and
Microsoft Office 2010. It also develops key understanding of computer literacy.
Prerequisite: None Course Level: 9th to 12th grade
Students in the Digital Business Communications 2 are expected to demonstrate effective communication skills, customer
relations expertise, and concepts vital to the development of a business career. This curriculum includes instruction and
practical application in business law, economics, financial analysis, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, students are
expected to learn and understand organizational concepts involving human resource and strategic management in the
world of business, as well as systems used to monitor and control day-to-day operations. This course is designed for
students to gain an introduction to programs in Adobe and Microsoft Office 2010 suites. The programs are used for
graphic enhancement, web-page development, and animation. Students are expected to gain a working knowledge of the
programs used in the production of websites for employers. Students will need an ability to work self-paced on projects
and take direction from an “employer”.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The outline below gives an overview of the components of the Digital Business Communications 2 course. The standards
for this framework are aligned to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), National Educational
