to take.
PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER
CONFERENCES
Parent/student/teacher conferences will be held
at the end of six and twelve week grading terms
for each semester. Parents pick up progress
reports during these times and will have an
opportunity to visit with all teachers. The first
Parent/Student/Teacher
conference
is
Wednesday, October 7th from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Progress reports are given each term, but
semester grades which are given at the end of
each semester are the grades recorded on the
permanent record and the grades for which
credit is issued. Although parents can view their
child’s grades through Parent Portal, it is not the
same as visiting with the classroom teacher. We
encourage all parents and students to attend
conferences.
Our second Parent/Student/Teacher conference
will be held on Wednesday, November 11th from
3:30 to 7:00 p.m. Mark your calendars!

A+ Information
All of the specifics are covered on the A+
Contract and A+ Citizenship Policy.
What is A+?
It is a program that is available to FHS
graduates because FHS is an “A+ School.” A+
is money from the Missouri government; the
money comes from Missouri taxes. A+ pays
for tuition (what you have to pay to attend a
school). A+ pays for fees (like computer fees,
health fees, recreation fees, charged by the
school). A+ does not pay for transportation,
room and board, supplies, and optional
books or program-related fees, such as tools.
What type of Schools will A+ pay for me to
attend?
Schools that are: Located in Missouri; Public
(funded with Missouri tax money); 2-year
community colleges, technical colleges, or
vocational/technical schools.
A+ does not pay for 4-year school or schools
out of state or private schools; many four
year schools offer a
completing A+.
scholarship for
How do I get the money? *
You do not have to have financial need
(anyone can qualify). You do not have to
earn A+ grades. You do not have to compete
with anyone. Basically, you just have to:
Sign up; Get an average of C+’s when all your
semester grades are averaged together. (2.5
GPA); Have an attendance rate of 95%;
Attend an A+ school for your last three years
before graduation; Stay out of trouble; Do 50
hours of tutoring; score a proficient or
higher on Algebra I End of Course Exam; if
you meet all of the eligibility requirements
except the end of course exam, you may
establish eligibility by achieving a qualifying
score on the COMPASS exam and Graduate.
