“Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be
unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 7:12
THE BIG PICTURE
Our 6 weeks of summer 5-Day Clubs is over!
This issue of our newsletter will deal with the
big picture: the overall numbers and reports of
the summer evangelism campaign. But the big
picture is made up of countless and precious
stories of God’s daily miracles! How we wish
there were room for all those stories!
Each evening at dinner we had rounds of
testimonies of how God’s Holy Spirit had
worked in the life of a child, or a daycare
director; of God’s divine protection when evil
was present; of God’s opening spiritual doors,
stopping the rain, sending children, etc. His
grace and power were seen daily, hourly!

Brian Ho, if you’re looking
for your little book entitled
“Sharpening the Sword,” I
found it. It’s your well-worn
Bible Memory Verse book,
and by every one of the 27
verses is a date and sticker.
You were one of about 100
who came through our
Junior Missionary Training
program this summer, and your book is evidence that
you applied yourself well!
Some came only one day to serve, but Brian and
other J.T.’s served many days.
Last summer, this program was just beginning to
emerge, with no real plan. However this summer there
was a scheduled plan for training and practical skills.
Under the gifted leadership of Mrs. Clarissa Belbas and
Mrs. Zena Wong, the Junior Missionary Training
program became an exciting and successful reality!
Every morning as teen missionaries left for daycare
clubs, the J.T.’s could be seen organizing into prayer
teams. Our teachers led them to pray for people groups
around the world, as well as our own mission teams
going out. Then there was Bible memory time. Our
teachers also drilled them with application questions, to
match the verses to real life situations.
About mid-morning laughter and chatter could be
heard in the hallways and rooms, as the “J.T.’s” began
their “All things in order” time, doing practical chores
around the church. Of course they were allowed a
Popsicle break, but then back into the auditorium for
inspirational missionary stories and videos. Thursday
mornings included special “Science Speaks” time with
Mrs. Clarissa. Friday mornings were “missionary
project” times, when the J.T.’s had outings like prayer
walks, passing out 5-Day Club invitations, and learning
how to give out Gospel tracts. Mrs. Clarissa and Mrs.
Zena made sure all the J.T.’s were well acquainted with
the “J.T. Job List”, so they would be ready to serve in
the evening 5-Day Clubs with our teen missionaries.
Brian, your well-worn book is evidence that you
studied diligently. You and your brother Brandon were
some of the outstanding J.T.’s this summer!
Congratulations on a job well done!
