Title: Step Up Your Employee Benefits, Health and Wellness Game
Overview: HR Professionals will learn how to step up their employee benefits game by gaining a better understanding of the importance of
developing and communicating effective employee benefits and wellness plans.
Organizations struggle with creative ways to assist employees with a “holistic” approach to their health and welfare. They realize successful

away from work, increase productivity, and even increase morale.
This panel discussion will identify ways to improve communication campaigns that will help improve organizational perception, and drive
adoption and engagement in health, wellness and incentive programs. You will learn about best-practice examples and get tips to help you
communicate to your employees about the importance, scope and strength of your benefits offerings. It will also provide insights into
initiatives for transforming your work culture that are clever, work friendly and have a positive impact on morale, productivity, health,
recruitment and retention.

Wednesday, May 14
9:45-10:55am
HRCI:

Workplace Application: Learn how to leverage your leadership skills to help your company overcome the top five threats to organizational
success. We are entering a new economy and business model with tremendous potential for HR to lead strategic organizational
success. The first of the five threats that will be discussed is the loss of your competitive advantage as other organizations level the
playing field while simultaneously failing to engage your workforce to create and develop new products and services faster than your
competition. Second, we will discuss the cost of reckless hiring, as most analysts agree that 80% of turnover can be attributed to bad
hires. Third, regulatory nightmares can become a huge external nightmare due to the impact that government regulation can have on
your business. The other two threats we will examine are the inability to innovate, and poor leadership and communication skills. You

Wednesday, May 14
12:45-1:55pm
HRCI:
Preapproved for Strategic Business
Overview: The business imperative: Engagement. Unless your organization has a bona fide monopoly, your people are your only true
competitive advantage. And, research shows that if your high potential /high performers are not engaged with you, they will likely walk
out the door at their earliest convenience. Even in the current uncertain economic climate, the best talent always has choices no matter
what market conditions exist. To allay this, organizations rely on HR to help them find ways to retain top performers.
Unfortunately, you can’t change what’s happening in the external economic world, but you can change your “people strategies” in order
to respond to those market trends and position your organization for competitive growth.

Wednesday, May 14
12:45-1:55pm
HRCI:
Preapproved for General
Overview: You can't watch the evening news without hearing mention of the problem with unemployment in the economy. Many attribute
unemployment to a poor economy, but many analysts counter that the reality is that we are witnessing the end of jobs as we have known
them. Some studies predict that the increase in contingent workers will be 3-4 times the increase in traditional jobs. While economic
conditions may be a reason for the rise of contingent workers, it cannot be ignored that many people are choosing contract work for other
reasons like increased work-life balance, increased opportunities to manage their own careers and increased opportunities to continually
learn new skills.
As companies increasingly rely on a contingent workforce, government regulators are increasing their scrutiny of these alternative work
arrangements. This session will review the various legal issues relating to contingent labor, including, but not limited to, pre-employment
screening, benefits and wage and hour issues, as well as offer practical suggestions to avoid legal landmines in these areas

Title: Leading And Living Like You Own It! Why We Never Wax A Rental Car
Overview: Leading And Living Like You Own It” is a collection of real life management successes, failures and the actions that led to
each from thousands of team members. It is a result of an attorney telling a newly promoted 24 year old Greg Gilbert to document
everything. It is a collection of Ah Ha moments from 20+ years of Franklin Planners, Day Runners and spiral notebooks. It is also
complimented with Edutainment with “The Leadership Czar With A Guitar”.

Greg Gilbert, President Greg Gilbert, Inc.
If it pertains to Human Resources, leadership, management or supervision, Greg Gilbert has probably been there, done that, witnessed
it, heard the grievance on it and is now teaching and speaking about it.
Greg Gilbert is a speaker, leadership instructor, author, blogger, podcaster, poet, singer/song writer, dad, papaw and husband to his best
friend of 37 years. Yes, his wife and best friend IS the same person. What prepared and provided Greg material for some of these roles
were his 20+ years in leadership and Human Resources with a Fortune 100 telecommunications company.
The MOST developmental and the greatest source of speaking, training and writing content were his dozen years as the primary HR
contact to over 2000 team members. This was where he was first exposed to the difference in the Leader/Owner and boss employee
mindsets. He learned a lot about people but more about himself. He also learned very quickly, he couldn’t change anyone but himself. He
has a passion for sharing the life and leadership lessons from years of personal experience and great mentors.
He is also a firm believer in presentations with both content and humor. The humor is interjected into his presentations with “The
Leadership Czar With A Guitar. His message of “Becoming A Top Ten Percent Manager” has been delivered to thousands as a
leadership seminar and keynote. It is also the foundation for his new book, “Becoming A Top Ten Percent Manager By Leading And
Living Like You Own it – Why We Never Wax A Rental Car.”
