Things to Consider
• Buy extra long sheets at BBB (coupons)
• Check to see if you can bring a TV, VCR,
microwave, small refrigerator, etc.- have
student check with roommate to eliminate
duplicate items.
• Power strip with safety breaker.
• Cable to connect computer to internet.
• Cable to connect TV to VCR, and remote.
• Shower flip flops.
Scholarship Scams
• Scholarship search services and financial
aid websites are common. Many of theses
for-profit companies charge high prices to
provide you with information that can be
found on other websites free. Companies
can legally charge high prices for their
services.
• (Make sure you set up a separate e-mail
address, to avoid being spammed).

You may be able to attend Mercer
County Community College
tuition-free* through NJ Stars.
*up to 15 credits per semester
NJ Stars Program
• Maintain a 3.0 + GPA to keep scholarships.
• Final 2 years at NJ Public College or University.
State to provide $ 2,000. per semester.
• The remaining costs of the Junior and Senior
year would be waived by the institutions, or
made up in scholarship money, for any student
who completes the STARS program with a 3.0
GPA or greater.
Requirements
• NJ STARS students must be enrolled in an
associate degree program at a New
Jersey community college.
• NJ STARS students must maintain
continuous full-time enrollment at a New
Jersey community college.
Earn a FREE College
Education!
Graduate in the top 20% of your high school class.
Enroll in an associate degree program and sign up for at
least 12 college credits.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA),
although NJ STARS eligibility is not based upon financial
need.
Your second year at Mercer is renewable if all academic
criteria are met.
