will be informed of the work that we have already
accomplished , the work that we are now involved in,
the work left to do, and finally an overall appraisal of
how the “HES” implementation is going.
Summary of “HES” accomplishments
During this period we have aimed towards integrating the effective and
efficient in hand materials, with the inclusion of our Multi-skill book(which
includes Math, shapes, colors , Social Skills ,etc..)lessons, hands on
activities , arts and crafts , songs, games , PE, field trips in the target
language , different Yoga techniques and a variety of supplements such as
puppets , salt/rice tray , play dough and live music making language
learning a natural and instinctive process as we had intended to.
As of this time, we have completed almost all the provided material and we
are putting our ongoing effort in elaborating the scope of all skill
capabilities in our students, just as we had mentioned in our deductive
approach goal in this system which has now reached its’ peak.
Here is a break down of the work we have done :
Developing Conversational Skills
In the development of the conversational skills, students have been
introduced to all nine themes of the Pockets Books and related Tiny
Talk units which include:

Food8.Home9.Neighborhood
Students are now involved in conversational revising activities such as
circle time with flashcards, teacher based puppet shows and student
based role plays using class posters for increasing student’s
enthusiasm in all learned conversations.
During the following months we will elaborate the theme vocabulary
by presenting more advanced theme related vocabulary through
the next level of the Pockets books ,according to students
capabilities.
Multi-Skill Essentials
The fundamental concepts in Math, Science, Social Skills,Reading, Rhyming word recognition, etc… have
been presented through our Multi-skill books. The details of the covered concepts are as follows:
Colors and Shapes: All related pages have been covered till now whereas we are now reviewing all
related pages

concepts of addition and subtraction in classes that have the capability to move on to the next
level.

reptiles,Mammals,Planet Earth,Recycling,Living/non living things and we will elaborate on each
topic in different levels according to students capabilities. In addition to teaching new topics along

settings.
Rhyming Words:Lessons 1-20 have been completed(out of 40) and we will continue presenting new
rhyming groups, whereas in later stages students will gain thorough knowledge of rhymes to start

Sight Words:”I,MY,You,And” have been taught. We will continue the sight words section in the order it
appears in the book for students to gain complete awareness in this regard for future text readings.
Literacy Program
All units of “Phonics for kids” and “Jolly Phonics”have been introduced
to the students whereas we are eventually entering the next step
towards the literacy program. As students gain more phonemic
awareness through practice, they will accomplish awareness in the
following order:a)reading sounds of the letters b)Reading CVC
words c)Reading sight words d)Reading short sentences E)reading
stories in the” Learn to Read A “ book.
We implemented all related flashcards in accordance to the sounds
that had been taught throughout this period and will continue
furthermore.
We are now integrating the newspaper practice in all classes to help
students reach a better understanding of phonemes. We are
planning individual story reading time for students that have a
potential in this matter.
Motor Skills&
Writing
We have completed the Motor Skill activity pages to
perform more efficiently on our writing practice
pages in all related books. Students mastery of
fine-motor skills have allowed them to gain
greater independence in all writing material.
As for now all students can trace all related letters
and at this point they are capable of tracing their
names . We have used the Salt/rice tray activity
for better efficiency in this matter.
Games-Yoga Techniques-Arts&CraftsHands on Activities
Each week students have learned new games, new yoga poses
and have made arts and crafts to strengthen and help
stabilize the newly learned concepts in all subjects.
We have also celebrated the American holidayssuch as
Halloween and Thanksgiving to familiarize students with
target language holidays and occasions. We have Christmas
coming up, and other holidays in the future months.
Finally, every other week students are involved in activities
such as making different recipes such as
salads, desserts, foods ,etc..with the objective of teaching
the children different action words and new related
vocabulary along with lots of fun while doing so. We will
continue all the aforementioned activities in the future as
well.
ESL Classes
The ESL section of our system has been technically
very complete with the supervision of an
experienced teacher in this matter, reaching all
students in need of extra supervision and
assistance. Through ESL classes the students in
need of extra practice in all skills especially
reading have been pulled out of the mainstream
class and have been assisted in the required field.
As for now the ESL students have a record with
their teacher and will continue ESL classes until
their teacher determines just when they need to
return to their mainstream classes for good.
Overall Appraisal
In all the aforementioned skills our English site is very complete and
gives all parents a good idea of what has been implemented
through our weekly lesson plans in detail. The student
accomplishments can be observed by parents through their weekly
evaluation sheets that have been sent home each week.
In addition to the weekly evaluations students have had individual
interviews and class observations in this regard for us to get results
of the system integration in detail.
According to the “HES” grading system an above average feedback has
been shown in all classes.
The overall system implementation has come along very well till now.
We hope to see an ongoing progress in all skills as expected in the
following months to come.
Thank you all for your sincere cooperation.
