WHY ICCI ?
“In any community, it is from the profitable
operation of business that all other benefits
result”. n any community, it is from the
profitable operation of business that all other
benefits result.
Only by succeeding in this fundamental goal can
a community provide the jobs & Training,
Experience and Expertise and produce the
wealth to finance all of the educational, cultural,
charitable & various other needs a community is
faced with everyday.
Our Population In India
Indian Shia population in 2005–2006 was
anywhere between 25% to 31% of entire Muslim
population (17 Cr) ; this accounts them in numbers

The 2nd Largest population of the World

Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on 16th September 2005 the

after Iran.

Where do we stand after 66 years of
Independence ?
 Even after 66 years of Indian independence and in spite of
being more than 40 million, the community still remains one
of the most economically challenged in the country
 The Challenge
How do we bring this huge chunk of population, of whom over
65% are under 30 years, into the economic mainstream of the
national and global economy?
Where do we stand today
 The per capita income of the shia community is less than
Muslim per capita income, which already lags behind the
Indian per capita income
 The Sachar Committee report
There is very little representation in the public and corporate
sector as well and even lower in top-level corporate jobs.
What have we done for ourselves ?
“No attempt by the community to
develop entrepreneurs, industries
and train skilled manpower making
the community prosperous and
contributing towards national
growth”.
How will ICCI Benefit the community ?
"The ICCI will actively promote
an environment in which
business of
the Imamia Community can
flourish".
