I was born and brought up in Houston,
Texas. Ours is a family of four with my parents, me and
my younger brother. The schooling years of my life were
toughest. I struggled a lot in my studies. The
standardized procedure of education never interested
me.
I was an average student throughout my
academic life. Extra-curricular activities like sports,
drawing, crafts, etc. were my favorite things. I just
remember that it was the second semester of 8th grade
when I stood first in class. However, it didn't serve any
purpose in motivating me to take up studies seriously. I
enjoyed understanding the concepts more than just
memorizing ready made notes. After completion of my
schooling and college in the science stream, I chose to
become a writer. It was a weird decision taken by me at
that time. Today, however, I don't regret it at all.
My career in writing began a smoothly and I
was more than happy to grab the right opportunity for
which I was waiting so long. Today, I am happy with my
life and enjoy it to the fullest. The positive attitude to face
hardships brought out the best in me. Today I am
looking forward to face the challenges of life in a positive
manner.
Autobiography – which one?
I was born on a warm, sunny day in June in
Sarasota, Florida. I still live in Sarasota, Florida, and I go to
school at Booker High School. I live with my mom,Kate; my
brother, Jake; and my Aunt Molly. When I was born, my
bother was fifteen-months-old and hid under the table from
me. Jake is a sweet kid and he would do anything for me,
but like all brothers and sisters we fight like cats and dogs.
Sometimes when no one was around, Jake would come up
to me and bite my toes for no reason. I still love him but only
because he is my brother.
Who I am in life.
My name is Sally Friday. I started school when I
was six-years-old. I went to kindergarten through fifth grade
at Booker Elementary and while I was there, I won an award
for perfect attendance. I also won an award for honor roll all
four terms. Then I attended Booker Middle School, and
there I also won a couple of awards: one for perfect
attendance and two for being named Student of the Year-one in sixth grade and the other in eighth grade. I am now a
senior at Booker High School. I plan on finishing school and
maybe going to a community college.

Prisca Lobjoy has been creating the entire
visual environment of the Gotan Project since the
band’s beginnings. Through her album art design
and the many music videos she has directed, she
has been nourishing her musical universe. She
directed the video for “Diferente”; the film “La
Revancha del Tango live”, that came out on DVD;
the many video sequences that the band uses on
stage; and the short film “Sentimentale”, between
dance and fiction, inspired by the music of Gotan
and its Argentinian imagery.
She spent a lot of time with the band
during their live shows and their tours, especially
in Australia in 2007, and brought back with her
many memories and even more photographs,
which are brought together in this book. They
convey her particular attention to furtive
moments and passing sensations, faithfully and
poetically reflecting this musical and human
adventure.
