Trigonometry
is a
mathematical study of
triangles
History
shows that people as
early as Ancient Egyptians
used Trigonometry, but the
study was built upon and
molded over hundreds of
years.
 Though
no one person is responsible for the
study of Trigonometry, Hipparchus of Nicea,
is known as the father of trigonometry.
 He was a Greek man living during 190 & 120
B.C.
 He is known as the Father of Trigonometry be
cause “He developed trigonometry and
constructed trigonometric tables, and he
solved several problems of spherical
trigonometry.

 Trigonometry
can be used to find
elevation. For example is you wanted to
know how high above sea level you were,
you could use a trigonometric formula.
 Similarly
trigonometry can be used to find
the height of buildings or mountains.

Trigonometry
is used in
architecture, such as in a music
hall, because the sound wave
travel in angles certain designs
create better sound
production.

Trigonometry
is used in
digital imaging to create
vivid, lifelike images.

The
first slide of ratios shows
the normal used of the
functions, while the second slide
shows the reciprocals of the
regular functions.

 The
regular functions are also used in
geometry.

I
think this website would be a great
study tool.

 This website may provide simple ideas for projects
we could do in class.
A
unit circle has a radius of one.
The
unit circle is used in
trigonometry with this formula “The
unit circle equation is x² + y² = 1”

Circles
and triangles have
the same tangent which
relates them.
