HOME BREW RULES AND REGULATIONS
Submit 2 bottles per entry with provided labels attached (same batch), application and
payment to any location by the date listed.
Please include full name, address and phone number on application
Gold, Silver and Bronze Metals will be awarded for each flight category listed.
Only American Style Brews per categories listed will be judged. Applicants must be 21 years old
and entries must have been brewed at home. Judging will use BJCP Guidelines - sponsored by
The Midnight Carboys for the Blues Brews and BBQ event at Petersen Park, McHenry, IL. with
winners announced on stage between bands on Sunday 8/2/2015 at approximately 2:30 pm
Feedback from Judges will be available after the stage announcements, we will attempt to
email judges results when email addresses are provided.
Two gate entry tickets will be mailed per primary application to the address listed on
application.
Requirements: Two unmarked / unlabeled bottles of the same beer. Please blacken out printed
caps with a marker. Swing top or corked bottles or permitted but discouraged. Bottle Entries
must be in 10 to 16 oz. No identifying marks should be on the entries.
Additional entries can be submitted for an additional $3.00 each, additional entry/label forms
need to be filled out with each entry additional gate entry tickets will not be provided for
secondary applications.
Late Entries, and Disqualifications. No entries will be returned if received late or for any other
reason. Beers may be disqualified if applications are not complete or legible.
Blind tasting will be used. Judges will not be given the identity of the entrant or brewer. Entries
will be judged to published styles and AHA/BJCP style guidelines will be used for the
competition. This is a sanctioned event. Style guidelines are available at www.BJCP.org
