Plant Anatomy Assessment Objective: After completing this assignment you should be able to identify the major plant structures. You should also be able to explain how various structures differ on different organisms in order to make them adapted for different environments. Directions: 1) Background Research. Research one plant native to the following environments/ecosystems. Desert, Tropical Rain forest, wetland, Tundra, and one other of your choosing. This plant should be adapted for a specific environment of your choosing. This environment could include things like a desert, tundra, mountainous. This model should include the following plant structures. Stems Roots Leaves Internal and external structures for each of these parts At least one modified anatomy structure such as a bulb, tuber or thorn. Leaf arrangement Leaf attachment Flower that has a specific pollinator Specific Pollinator 3) Create an environment in which the plant is from including weather, climate, rainfall, soil type, temperature, animals sun exposure, ect… 4) Write an Explaination of your plant and why the anatomy that it has fits the environment in which it lives. 5) Evaluate at least 5 plants that your classmates and explain what type of environment that this plant might live in.
