Cell Model Assignment.
100points DUE  Student will make a 3-D replica of a cell not any smaller than
3in by 5in (not huge either).
 Use whatever materials you would like. Except jello.
 It can be either a plant or an animal cell.
 The model needs to have objects that represent all the
organelles found in that type of cell
(Below is a list of which organelles are found in a plant cell or animal cell)
 Fill out the cell assessment as a key that tells which organelle
each object in your model represents and list its function.
(Definitions in the cell notes, and they are posted on my blog)
Plant cell
Animal cell
o Chloroplast
o Cell membrane
o Central vacuole
o Nucleus
o Cell wall
o Nucleolus
o Cell membrane
o Mitochondria
o Mitochondria
o Lysosome
o Nucleus
o Golgi apparatus
o Nucleolus
o E.R (endoplasmic reticulum)
o Lysosome
o Ribosome
o Golgi apparatus
o E.R (endoplasmic reticulum)

Cell Brochure
100points DUE  Create a brochure representing a plant or animal cell as a
tourist attraction or theme park.
 The brochure must list the purpose of cell.
 It must also include each organelle and its function for your
chosen cell type.
 Below is a list of all the organelles found in plant and animal
cells.

7th Grade
Cells
Objectives: By the end of the unit you should be able to
 Understand the cell theory. (Cells are the basic unit of life. All cell
come from other cells)
 Identify the organelles in a cell and describe their function.
 Differentiate between plant and animal cells.
Cell Projects:
PLEASE CHOOSE ONE of the three assignments below.
They are all worth the same amount of credit.
Requirements for each project are at the end of the packet
 Cell model – Create a 3D model of a plant or animal cell and fill out the
chart provided.
 Cell report – Write a 2 page paper outlining the cell, its organelles and
their functions.
 Cell brochure- Create a brochure of a cell outlining all the organelles
and their functions.
