Brain Model Project
Due 9/19/14
Create a model of the brain. You can use Clay, Play-Doh, paper mache, food, recycled materials, or
anything else that you can think of. The models must be colored according to region of the brain and
labeled accurately. You may also draw a representation; however, you must draw both sides of the brain
and label each side. Drawing must be neat, accurate, and detailed. You may refer to your textbook on
pages 87, 88, 93, and 94. All models and representations must include the following terms.
Brain Stem
Medulla
Pons
Thalamus
Cerebellum
Hippocampus
Right hemisphere
4
Model is accurately and
clearly labeled.
Model is neat, colored,
and anatomically
accurate.
Model demonstrates
creativity and
knowledge of the
subject matter.
Amygdala
Hypothalamus
Cerebral cortex
Frontal lobe
Motor cortex
Parietal lobe
Left hemisphere
3
Model has most parts
accurately labeled or
labels could have more
clarity.
Model lacks neatness,
or has few colors but is
still anatomically
accurate.
Model clearly
demonstrates
knowledge of the
subject matter.
Somatosensory cortex
Occipital lobe
Visual cortex
Temporal lobe
Association cortex
Corpus callosum
2
Model has half or fewer
parts labeled or mast
parts are unclear or
hard to identify.
Model lack neatness
and color or is
anatomically
inaccurate.
Model somewhat
demonstrates
knowledge of the
subject matter
1
Model is poorly labeled
or lacks labels.
Model lacks neatness,
color, and anatomical
accurateness.
Model does not
demonstrate
knowledge of the
subject matter.
