ABC Preschool
(Ages 4-5)
ASHLEY NAGEL
Mission Statement
“At ABC Preschool, we strive to provide a
safe and developmentally appropriate
environment for preschool age children. We
teach to the needs of each individual child and
cater to their interests. Our focus is to provide
a stimulating and hands-on educational
experience which promotes each child's
social/emotional, physical, and cognitive
development.”
Philosophy
 “At ABC Preschool we believe in child-
centered and play-based learning. We
believe that each child is important, as well
as their individual interests. We believe that
children explore and discover through play.
We encourage children to use their senses
and imagination to create and act out life
scenarios, while discovering the world.”
Curriculum Aligned with the
Early Learning Guidelines
 ELG is based on scientific research, the values of
professionals in the Early Childhood profession, and the
importance of young children and families. The
Guidelines were created for use in a preschool, daycare,
or home settings.
 The Guidelines stress the importance of school and
family relationships, and show respect for the cultural
differences that each student will bring to the classroom.
The Guidelines are understandable for parents, and
reassure the parents that developmentally appropriate
practices are of the utmost importance.
Early Learning Guidelines
 The Guidelines incorporate eight domain
areas including, health and physical
development, mathematics and logical
thinking, social and emotional development,
approaches to learning, expressive arts and
creative thinking, language and literacy,
science and problem solving, and social
studies.
