The guidelines for the 2012 annual Letters About Literature contest are now available
from the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. Letters About Literature is an
essay contest which allows school students grades 4-12 to write a letter to their favorite
author about how his or her work affected their lives. Missouri has participated in this
contest since 1995 and has had terrific levels of participation from across the state.
An awards ceremony is held for the statewide winners every spring at the State
Information Center in Jefferson City, sponsored by the Missouri Center for the Book.
Please share this information with English and literature teachers and school
librarians for grades 4-12. Access the guidelines, or find out more about the
