Lincoln Day Essay Contest

Open to high school seniors only. Students must write an
essay. Essay Guideline: Pick a current issue that has either
a local or national impact and explain how Abraham
Lincoln would deal with the issue if he were president
today. See application for more details.
Applicant must be a graduating senior of the Kern High
School District. For students who have realized a high
degree of academic achievement in his or her high school
studies; and who during his or her high school career has
demonstrated a high level of ambition, industry, and the
ability to set and achieve goals; and has demonstrated
the requisite level of financial need in connection with the
pursuit of a college or other post-secondary school
education.

1. KCCW Relative: This scholarship is open to any
student who is a relative of a Kern County
Cattle Woman member in good standing,
regardless of major.
2. Ag Major: This scholarship is open to any
student pursuing a degree in any field of
agriculture, including but not limited to
Forestry, Ornamental Horticulture, Animal
Sciences, Natural Resources Management,
Crop Science, Ag Education, Ag Business and
Ag Communications.
3. Previous Recipients: This scholarship is open to
any student who has previously received one
of our scholarships.

Trust Fund – Essay Contest
Asian Pacific Fund administers 12 scholarship programs,
each with unique eligibility criteria. For incoming or
current college students of various ethnic backgrounds.
Must plan to be enrolled full time in the fall. Minimum of
3.0 GPA and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Thelma Rae Self Music
A type-written essay between five hundred and seven
hundred fifty words on the subject of honesty, integrity
and courage. The words must come from the heart. The
winner of the contest will receive $500 to use any way
they wish. Return application to Room 73.
Applicant must be a graduating senior of Bakersfield,
Centennial, Liberty, North, Ridgeview, South, Stockdale
or West High Schools.
Applicant must be a student attending school in Kern

For current graduating North High School students who
plan to attend a two or four year college or equivalent.
The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
and demonstrate good moral character.
Inviting only graduates from junior high or middle schools
from the Bakersfield City School District. These are:
Chipman, Compton, Curran, Downtown, Emerson,
Sequoia, Sierra, Stiern and Washington.
For promising young students from Arizona, California,
New Mexico, and Texas who plan to attend a college or
are attending a college offering at least a four-year
degree in Agriculture. 3.0 GPA required.
Applicant must be a member of a Future Farmer Chapter
or Key Club of a Kern County High School, or a child or
grandchild of a Kern County Kiwanian, and have a GPA of
2.5.
For students who are U.S. Citizens, and graduates of Kern
County who demonstrate motivation, perseverance and a
sincere desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university, and who wish to pursue a
career in agriculture. Must demonstrate financial need. 3.0
minimum GPA.
Must be a graduating high school senior from Fresno,
Madera, Kings, Kern and Tulare Counties. GPA 2.5 or
better. Plan to attend a university, junior college or trade

For graduating high school seniors of Chinese descent. GPA
3.0 or above. Extracurricular activities, community services

Must plan to attend Bakersfield College full-time starting

Demonstrate financial need. Graduating high school senior.
Place into BC Elem. Algebra. GPA 3.0 or higher. Working
towards transferring to a four-year STEM Baccalaureate
degree. Major in one of the following STEM disciplines at

school seniors to apply for a book scholarship to help begin a college
education. Our sorority is dedicated to helping young men and women
reach their dreams of educational success. Students who plan to go to
