Part 1: Meaning, Sentence, and Picture
*Remember, by the end of the week you MUST have taught EVERY person
in our class your word, what it means, synonyms, AND antonyms!!*
1. Get out a vocab. card and put your name on it.
2. Write YOUR word for the week that you picked this morning in the
middle
3. Go to www.blachan.com/shahi
4. Type your word in the search box and click enter.
5. Read ALL of the definitions. Then write your own definition for this
word IN YOUR OWN WORDS!
6. Write your word in your own sentence.
7. Look at the pictures. Draw a picture that for your word onto the card.
8. If you finish early, teach the people in your center group only your word.

*REMEMBER*
SYNONYM = words with SIMILAR / SAME meaning
ANTONYM = words with the OPPOSITE / different meaning
1. Get out your vocab. card from yesterday.
2. Go to
www.wordhippo.com
3. Type in YOUR vocab. word for this week.
4. To find SYNONYMS type your word in the blank where it says:
a. What’s another word for ____________ FIND IT
5. Add at least 5 synonyms (words that mean the SAME) to your vocab.

6. To find ANTONYMS type that same word in the blank where it says:
a. What’s the opposite of ___________ FIND IT
7. Add at least 5 antonyms (words that mean OPPOSITE) to your vocab.

1. Get out your vocab. cards sheet.
2. Go to www.visuwords.com
3. Type YOUR vocab. word for the week into the search box and click
submit.
4. Read the word web carefully.
5. Add at least 3 new words (synonyms) for that word to your vocab. chart.
6. Make your own visuword web in your notebook. Include at least 10 words
in your web.
7. If you finish early, write a note (at least 5 complete sentences) to Ms.
