Individual

One single organism.
Population

All the individuals of one kind (one species) in a
specified area at one time.
Community

All the interacting populations in a specified area.
Ecosystem

A system of interacting organisms and nonliving
factors in a specified area.
Biotic and Abiotic

Biotic Factors: Living organisms and products
of organisms

Abiotic Factors: Nonliving things in an
ecosystem.
Activity: Card Sorting



You will work in groups of two.
One deck of ecosystem cards
Sort cards into different piles.


The piles should be: Individuals, Populations,
Communities, Ecosystems, and Abiotic Factors
Record card-sort onto the given worksheet.
