2. Equilibrium - a state of balance between opposing forces or actions that is either static (as
in a body acted on by forces whose resultant is zero) or dynamic (as in a reversible
chemical reaction when the rates of reaction in both directions are equal)

o Choose an amusement park ride and SIGN UP for it. You MAY NOT have the same
ride as anyone else in your class.
o To complete this project you must answer the following questions:
1. When was this ride (or type of ride) designed? (YEAR and month if
possible) By who?
2. When was it first built and where?
3. When was it first used and where?
4. What makes the ride "feel" the way that it does? What science idea or
concept did the designers use or think about to make this ride fun or
exciting?
5. What is G-force?
6. Is there G-force associated with this ride?
7. Check out this site: http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/roller-coaster.htm.
Read about roller coasters here. Questions will come later about this.
