Communications Intern
 Organization of a Tree City Festival to honor the Village’s diversity of trees. Coordinated with the
elementary schools and the county forester to have an Arbor Day event. Invited the local news.
station and paper to the event and it was televised and printed on the front page of the paper.
 Attended all Village Board meetings, documented and transcribed minutes to be posted on the
Village website.
 Wrote various press releases to the news station and local paper about events that were occurring in
the Village.
 Recreated the Village website to be more user friendly and visually appealing in efforts to increase
online traffic to the website. Uploaded important Village documents and created an online PDF
version of the Village Codes Manuel for easy access.
 Invoiced citizens for Village Taxes, tracked accounts receivable, and deposited money into the
Village accounts.

 Call center for the government to assist students and family with the financial aid and FAFSA
process by clarifying any problems they were having with the application.
 Walked students through the online application and was responsible for troubleshooting any
problems they were having with the student aid website.
 Opened appeals for further review for those unable to qualify for financial aid due to their credit
score.
