Executive Director of Joseph House to speak at Library’s
Veterans Day program
Nathan Pelletier, a veteran of the war in Iraq and a Cincinnati business leader, will give the
keynote address at the 61st Veterans Day Commemoration 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in
the Main Library's Reading Garden Lounge. Pelletier is executive director of the Joseph House
and founder of BlueFire Innovations.
A graduate of West Point and of the U.S. Army Ranger and Airborne Schools, he deployed in
2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III and earned the Combat Infantryman Badge and
Bronze Star for outstanding leadership.
He joined Procter & Gamble in 2009 and worked in Product Supply and then Global Design
Marketing. While on sabbatical from P&G in 2012, he led a research project to study the
transition of military service members to civilian life and authored a proposal to address the
challenges of their reintegration. Subsequently, he left P&G to take over as executive director of
the Joseph House where he has implemented a plan focused on optimizing the Joseph House
treatment and recovery program as well as developing a program to ensure that clients are able
to reintegrate and sustain a productive lifestyle in the community. The Joseph House serves
homeless veterans suffering from addiction within our community and provides them the
support they need to maintain a lifelong commitment to recovery and thrive in the community.
Pelletier recently started a company called BlueFire Innovations where he works with aspiring
entrepreneurs and established companies to grow their businesses using innovation systems. He
is also a member of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, Class of 2017.
The 61st Veterans Day Commemoration program includes the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office
Pipes & Drums, the lighting of the Flame of Remembrance, patriotic music, a presentation of
Memorial Wreaths and the playing of “Taps.” This program is sponsored by the Friends of the
