Jr. Leader Conference is for:
4-H Junior Leaders who have
completed 9th-12th Grade.
Those who want to learn new
leadership skills for themselves and
others.
Jr. Leader Conference is for:
Those willing to share knowledge they
gain with those at home.
Those who want to meet new friends from
around Indiana.
Those who want to have fun!!!
How do I register?
Tell your County 4-H Youth Extension Educator
that you are interested in attending.
Follow County guidelines for applying or signing
up for a chance to attend.
State registration deadline is May 15. (County
registration deadline will be earlier.)
Where is Jr. Leader Conference held?
The conference will be held at the
University of Indianapolis.
We’ll stay in a college dorm; have sessions
in college classrooms and in the
auditorium; and eat in the student center
cafeteria.
When is Jr. Leader Conference?
Conference will begin at 12 noon on
Tuesday, June 19.
Entertainment, enjoyment, and energy
will be experienced by all for 4 days!!!
We’ll conclude before 12 noon on Friday,
June 22.

• Indiana State Fair Youth Leadership Conference is held
at the Indiana State Fair. Students will get to stay
in the newly renovated Discovery Hall.
When is ISFYLC?
• The 2012 Conference will begin on Tuesday, July
31st, and end on Saturday, August 4th

computer science industry.

– 3-D Modeling: Turn flat, boring graphics into 3-D
images that appear to jump off the screen.
Engineering Science Workshop
Learn– how robots operate,
– what makes a good fuel for internal
combustion engines,
– how computers draw without pencils,
– how to select the best vegetable/fruit variety for
mechanical harvesting, and
– how to surf the Internet.
The program will also introduce you to careers in
various engineering fields.
Food Science & Nutrition
Workshop
Interested in foods, science and being part of an
exciting and rapidly expanding industry?
You will have an opportunity to:
– get acquainted with faculty members, university
departments and the Purdue campus.
– determine taste, smell, and texture of foods.
– work in labs to process foods, make ice cream, and make
alternative sweeteners.
– share what you learned about food science and nutrition
with other youth.
P.I.N.E.- Plants, Insects, and Natural
Resources and the Environment
 Learn about plants, insects, and other natural
resources.
 Participants will be able to choose from a variety of 4H project areas: beekeeping, crops, entomology,
floriculture, forestry, geology, lawn and garden, plant
science, small grains, soil and water conservation,
weeds, weather and wildlife.
 Work with Purdue faculty and staff
Electric Workshop
June 22nd-24th, 2012, Purdue University
For members in Division III or above
Opportunities:
– Wire switches and receptacles or an entire 4-way circuit
using a computerized wiring program.
– Wire (hands-on) switches and receptacles, both two and
three-way.
– Design and build a magnetic powered flashlight.
– Learn how to use the various meters to measure
electrical current, voltage and resistance.
– Build an electronic "Decision Maker".
