They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck [of] the abundance of the seas, and [of] treasures hid in the sand. The Lymphatic System THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM 4 DEFINITION The interconnected system of spaces and vessels between body tissues and organs by which lymph circulates throughout the body. The Lymphatic, or lymph system, defends the body from foreign invasion by disease causing agents such as viruses, bacteria, or fungi. The lymphatic system consists macroscopically of: The bone marrow, spleen, thymus gland, lymph nodes, tonsils, appendix, and a few other organs. http://www.lymphomainfo.net/lymphoma/lymphsys.htm The Lymphatic System: Represents the History of the 5 people of God working together for the up building, Justification, Sanctification, and Holiness of the body of Christ. (The Whole Body) It Establishes unity and Glorifies the Kingdom of Heaven being co-labors with The Godhead and The Heavenly Host. The proper understanding of the tissues will help you to know much about the precaution and the cure to the diseases. The study of tissue is known as histology. A cellular organization that is intermediate in between the cells is called as tissue. If you go little more into simple definition, tissues are the group of cells. The group of tissues together makes an organ. Before learning further about the tissues we should know the human tissue types. The types are epithelial, connective, nerve and muscle tissue. These are the main types of human tissues. They are of different significance and are very much needed for the human body structure. The epithelial tissues are built in such a manner that it has irregular sides. These are the skins that cover the outer layers of the human skin. They are also responsible to cover the innermost layer of the most organs and cavities like lungs and reproductive tracks, etc. The examples of this kind of tissues are Simple Squamous Epithelium, Stratified and ciliated columnar. Another kind of tissue is the connective tissues. (Continue on the next slide) They are three types of connective tissue. 6 They are Fibroconnective tissue, cartilage and bones. The Fibroconnective tissues are found in the vertebral column. Another type of connective tissues is cartilage. There are three types of cartilage they are Hyaline, Fibrocartilage and Elastic. Hyaline is tough tissue and are flexible. The Fibrocartilage is not as tough as the hyaline and the Elastin tissue contains more elastin fibers. Bone is the other type of connective tissues. It is mainly made up of calcium Hydroxyapatite. These are some of the human tissue types. They are made up of varieties of cells that are the lifeblood of the tissue. The most important part of the tissue is that it should be BSE free. BSE is the disease that a tissue can be effected with. The proper understanding of the tissues will help you to know much about the precaution and the cure to the diseases. http://www.articlesweb.org/health/human-tissue-types-and-its-understanding BSE (Veterinary Science) bovine spongiform encephalopathy: a fatal slow-developing disease of cattle, affecting the nervous system. It is caused by a prion protein and is thought to be transmissable to humans, causing a variant form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Informal name: mad cow disease. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/BSE Lets begin our study to understand how they work! 7 Starting with: 1. Cells represent (Individual People) 2. The Tissues represent (These individuals combine with other individuals (cells) of like callings). 3. The Organs represent (These individuals combine and group together with others of like goals to perform a function). 4. The Systems represent (These groups work with other groups of people ;a group of individual groups, to perform a larger function). 5. The Whole Body represent (These systems of people are all working to one purpose-to further God’s cause). (The Body Book #2 pg 57) How are they related to our Body’s Defenses? 8 They represent: A Symbol of The Tribe of Zebulun In the typical battle of Megiddo, they were self-supporting warriors. Judges 5:19 Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus, was within the borders of Zebulun. {1914 SNH, The Cross and Its Shadow 338.7} Isaiah prophesied that Zebulun would receive great light. Isaiah. 9: 1, 2. The lymphatic System is a network of lymphoid tissue lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels, and lymphoid organs, and has two main functions. It brings back to the heart much of the interstitial fluid that bathes the body’s cells. (2 Corinthians 4:7-17) The Marty’s in the body of Christ, represented by the church of Smyrna see (Revelation 2:13). Ministering Angel and the Saints giving their lives for their faith and the love of Christ for the Purification of the body. (Matthew 13:41) (Revelation 2:7; 8-11) T-cells are a type of white blood cell that circulate around our bodies, scanning for cellular abnormalities and infections. T-cells are essential for human immunity. The lymphatic system filters fluid from around cells. It is an important part of the 9 immune system. When people refer to swollen glands in the neck, they are usually referring to swollen lymph nodes. Common areas where lymph nodes can be easily felt, especially if they are enlarged, are: the groin, armpits (axilla), above the clavicle (supraclavicular), in the neck (cervical), and the back of the head just above hairline (occipital). the neck (cervical) the back of the head just above hairline (occipital) above the clavicle armpits (axilla) the groin 10 Medical term: The Lymph is a pale fluid that contains white blood cells and that passes through channels in the body and helps to keep bodily tissues healthy 11 The lymphatic system functions as part of the immune system and helps to protect the body against infection and disease. It consists of a network of tubular channels (lymph vessels) that transport a thin watery fluid known as lymph from different areas of the body into the bloodstream. Lymph accumulates between tissue cells and contains proteins, fats, and certain white blood cells known as lymphocytes. As lymph moves through the lymphatic system, it passes through a network of lymph nodes that help the body to deactivate sources of infection (e.g., viruses, bacteria, etc.) and inflammation (antigens). Groups of lymph nodes are located throughout the body, including in the neck, under the arms (axillae), at the elbows, and in the chest, abdomen, and groin. The lymphatic system includes the spleen, which filters worn-out red blood cells and produces lymphocytes, and bone marrow, which is the spongy tissue inside the cavities of bones that manufactures blood cells. http://www.everydayhealth.com/health-center/lymphatic-malformations.aspx The Lymph are the Martyrs in our Bodies! 12 Defenders of the Living Truth of God’s Word. The Martyrs 12 The Martyrs and Defenders of the Body 13 The tribes of Zebulun were those who handled "the pen of the writer," or as the margin reads, "they that draw with the pen.“ (Judges 5:14) This would indicate that they were a literary or artistic people. When the cause of God is in a crisis, will rise up and "jeopardize their lives unto the death in the high place," thus bringing victory to the cause of God. ( Judges 5:19) In the battle which was a type of the great battle of Armageddon, Zebulun "jeopardized their lives unto the death in the high places of the field;" or, according to the marginal reading, they “exposed to reproach their lives.“ God and His cause were more Precious to them than their own lives or reputation. Margin…….the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money. {1914 SNH, CIS The Cross and Its Shadow 335.4-6} Zebulun and Naphtali [were] a people [that] jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field. Judges 5:18 14 After Israel returned from captivity and the cause of God was again in a crisis, Nehemiah, a self-supporting worker, came forward and did what others could not do. When the Saviour hung dead upon the cross and ignominy was heaped upon His disciples, Joseph and Nicodemus, two rich men holding high positions, came forward and performed a work for the Saviour which those who loved Him perhaps more sincerely were not able to do. While Zebulun and Naphtali may not have loved God more than the other tribes, yet from the record given by Deborah, it would seem that they turned the tide of the battle by risking their lives, and they "took no gain of money" for their service. It seems that Zebulun was an intelligent tribe, blessed with this world's goods; but when there came a crisis in the cause of the Lord, we find them risking all to maintain the honor of God's name. 1914 SNH, CIS- The Cross and Its Shadow 336.2-4} 15 Over two hundred years later there was another crisis in the cause of God. Saul was dead, and the true hearted in Israel, came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, "according to the word of the Lord.“ 1 Chronicles 12:23 Every tribe was represented, but no tribe excelled Zebulun in number and equipage. Fifty thousand expert warriors came, bringing their own instruments of war. "They were rangers of battle," able to "set the battle in array;" and what was of more value to the cause of God than numbers or skill, "they were not of double heart," but men the Lord could trust in a crisis. 1 Chronicles 12:33, 10 {1914 SNH, The Cross and Its Shadow 336.5} Who is prepared to perfect such a character in the fear of God, and have the seal of God placed upon his forehead? Who will covet Zebulun's character so earnestly that he will be willing to expose to reproach his life for Christ's sake? {1914 SNH, The Cross and Its Shadow 337.1} 16 The land of Zebulun has the high honor of being the childhood home of Jesus. Nazareth was situated within its borders. The people here had an opportunity of seeing and hearing more of Christ than those in any other place. Isaiah prophesied that the land of Zebulun would see a great light. Isaiah 9:1,2 Nevertheless the dimness [shall] not [be] such as [was] in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict [her by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Truly this prophecy was fulfilled, for they had within their borders the greatest Light this world has ever seen. The first miracle performed by Jesus was at Cana in Zebulun. It was also in Cana that the nobleman came to Jesus asking for the life of his son, and the request, like every other prayer of faith, was granted by the Great Physician. {1914 SNH, The Cross and Its Shadow 338.1-3} Our Ministering Angels and Saints Defenders of the Body! 17 Marty’s Revelation 2:9-11 The Third Angles Messages (Revelation 14) (Judges 5:14) Defenders of the Faith they that draw with the pen 18 Angels Connected by Their Messages Godly People as Pillars Connected by Silver Chapiters Exodus 38:17-18 19 It brings back to the heart much of the interstitial fluid that bathes the body’s cells. B cells: Lymphocytes (Angelic Ministers protects the body) plays an important role in the immune response. B cells produce antibodies that remember antigens (foreign substances) and attach to them. There are several types, including B and T cells, and natural killer cells. They can be divided into two different types, killer T-cells and helper T-cells. Helper T-cells orchestrate an immune response and play important roles in all arms of immunity. http://www.tcells.org/beginners/tcells/ 20 The Sea of Life It is in the capillaries that the perfect nutrition of the structures takes place: worn-out material is separated, and new material is consolidated. The Lymphatic System 21 Consists of the lymphatic vessels ducts and lymph nodes (1 Thessalonians 4:4) (which are distributed throughout the body) The Tonsils: (Statutes Psalms 19:8), the thymus gland and the spleen. The blind ended vessels called the Lymphatic System shall dwell at the sea (Sea of Life) (Judge 5:14, 18) (Isaiah 9:1-2) (1 Chronicles 12:33) It has Two Organs: The Spleen: Represent Justification (1 Corinthians 6:11) the spleen stores an emergency blood supply and also contains white blood cells. Specific types of white blood cells in the spleen destroy old (abnormal cells) red blood cells filter microorganisms out of the blood as it passes through, and initiate an immune response against the foreign microbes. The Thymus: Represent Sanctification (1 Corinthians 1:30) the thymus plays an important role in the maturation of certain lymphocytes called T cells, which are an essential part of the immune system. 21 Spleen: 22 The spleen is the most important internal human organ with respect to the immune system. The spleen is located in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen. The function of the spleen is to remove old red blood cells and recycle iron. The spleen in an adult human body is about 11 cm in length. (Psalm 40:2) Thymus gland: The thymus glands are specialized organs of the immune system. The thymus gland is located in front of the heart and behind the sternum. The function of the thymus gland is production of T-lymphocytes that are very important for adaptive immune system. Thymus Spleen L 23 I Thessalonians 4:4 Paul Gentiles Economy Peter Jewish Economy Psalms 86:11 The Lymph fluid: A clear fluid 24 (Revelation 21:10-11) a major part of this defensive response, the lymph plays a vital role by carrying immune cells throughout the body. Any invasion that gets through these defenses will lead to an infection. (Hebrew 12:28) The White blood cells wander freely (Galatians 5:1, 2:4) through the body tissues and protect the body by destroying bacteria and other foreign substances on average, there are 4000 to 11,ooo White Blood Cells per cubic millimeter. But adoption into the family of God makes us children, not slaves. When the love of Christ enters the heart we strive to imitate the character of Christ. . . . The more we study the life of Christ with a heart to learn, the more Christlike we become. Into the heart of every true doer of the Word the Holy Spirit infuses clear understanding. The more we crucify selfish practices by imparting our blessings to others and by exercising our God-given ability, the more the heavenly graces will be strengthened and increased in us. We will grow in spirituality, in patience, in fortitude, in meekness, in gentleness. . . . A train of cars is not merely attached to the engine; they follow on the same track as the engine. Whom are we following? {Our Fathers Care 124.1} 25 Zebulun's portion in the promised land lay between the territories of Naphtali (The Intergumentary System or Skin) and Issachar, (The Skeleton System or Bone) bordering on the southern part of the west shore of the Sea of Galilee, and is supposed to have extended also to the shore of the Great Sea. Moses, in his parting blessing, spoke of Zebulun as a sea-faring people. {1914 SNH, CIS-The Cross and Its Shadow 335.2} Deuteronomy 33:18,19 And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, (The Skeleton System) in thy tents. See Slide#18 They shall call the people unto the mountain; there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness: for they shall suck [of] the abundance of the seas, and [of] treasures hid in the sand. And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out; and, Issachar, (The Skeleton System) in thy tents. ; 26 27 God's people, whom he calls his peculiar treasure, were privileged with a two-fold system of law; the moral and the ceremonial. The one, pointing back to creation to keep in remembrance the living God who made the world, whose claims are binding upon all men in every dispensation, and which will exist through all time and eternity. The other, given because of man's transgression of the moral law, the obedience to which consisted in sacrifices and offerings pointing to the future redemption. Each is clear and distinct from the other. From the creation the moral law was an essential part of God's divine plan, and was as unchangeable as himself. The ceremonial law was to answer a particular purpose of Christ plan for the salvation of the race. The typical system of sacrifices and offerings was established that through these services the sinner might discern the great offering, Christ. But the Jews were so blinded by pride and sin that but few of them could see farther than the death of beasts as an atonement for sin; and when Christ, whom these offerings prefigured, came, they could not discern him. The ceremonial law was glorious; it was the provision made by Jesus Christ in counsel with his Father, to aid in the salvation of the race. The whole arrangement of the typical system was founded on Christ. Adam saw Christ prefigured in the innocent beast suffering the penalty of his transgression of Jehovah's law. {The Review and Herald, May 6, 1875 par. 4} 28 I I By the Blood of the Lamb Type: The System of Sacrifice by Work through Ordinance Meets By the Power of God in the Holy Ghost Anti-type: The System of Righteousness by Faith Christ Life Merit Abiding In Christ 29 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (John 15:4) {Our Father Cares 124.3} “Abide in me” are words of great significance. Abiding in Christ means a living, earnest, refreshing faith that works by love and purifies the soul. It means a constant receiving of the spirit of Christ, a life of unreserved surrender to His service. Where this union exists, good works will appear. The life of the vine will manifest itself in fragrant fruit on the branches. The continual supply of the grace of Christ will bless you and make you a blessing, till you can say with Paul, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me” (Galatians 2:20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 30 The sacred union with Christ will unite the brethren in the most endearing bonds of Christian fellowship. Their hearts will be touched with divine compassion one for another. . . . Coldness, variance, strife, are entirely out of place among the disciples of Christ. They have accepted the one faith. They have joined to serve the one Lord, to endure in the same warfare, to strive for the same object, and to triumph in the same cause. They have been bought with the same precious blood, and have gone forth to preach the same message of salvation. . . . Those who are constantly drawing strength from Christ will possess His spirit. They will not be careless in word or deportment. An abiding sense of how much their salvation has cost in the sacrifice of the beloved Son of God will rest upon their souls. Like a fresh and vivid transaction the scenes of Calvary will present themselves to their minds and their hearts will be subdued and made tender by this wonderful manifestation of the love of Christ to them. They will look upon others as the purchase of His precious blood, and those who are united with Him will seem noble and elevated and sacred because of this connection. The death of Christ on Calvary should lead us to estimate souls as He did. His love has magnified the value of every man, woman, and child. {Our Father Cares 124.4-5} 31 The Fine Twined Linen Christ Righteousness our Wedding Garment The work of Christ is illustrated by the parable of the marriage of the king's son. All the guests, both bad and good are gathered at the marriage; but when the king comes in to examine the guests, all are ejected except those who are clothed with the wedding garment of Christ's righteousness. (Matthew 22:1-14) (Revelation 3:18) "Many are called, but few are chosen.” {1914 SNH, CIS- The Cross and Its Shadow 31.1} The tabernacle was surrounded by a court one hundred cubits long and fifty cubits wide. This court was enclosed by curtains of fine twined linen hung from Pillars of brass. The pillars were trimmed with chapiters and fillets of silver, and the curtains were suspended from silver hooks. The court formed an oblong, and was placed with its longest sides toward the north and south and the ends toward the east and west. The door, or entrance, of twenty cubits width, was in the center of the east end of the court. The curtains forming the door of the court were of "blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen wrought with needlework," and were suspended from four pillars of brass, trimmed with silver. (Exodus 27:9-18) {1914 SNH, The Cross and Its Shadow 173.1} (Luke 9:14)31 32 At night, when the intense heat abated and darkness covered the desert, then above the holy tabernacle hung the cloud now a great pillar of fire, "in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys." God's immediate, visible presence lighted up the entire encampment, so that all could walk safely through the darkness. What an expressive type was thus given of the Christian's walk! There may be no visible light, but when the light of God's presence surrounds him, his pathway is light. David knew this when he wrote, "Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of Thy countenance.“ (Psalms 89:15) (Exodus 40:38 ) The weakest trusting child of God can have the blessed privilege of being guided by the light of God's countenance, safe from the pitfalls of Satan, if he will surrender his heart to God. (Isaiah 52:1) Within the golden walls of the tabernacle, priests of divine appointment performed a work representing in types and symbols the plan of redemption. {1914 SNH, CIS- The Cross and Its Shadow 30.1} 33 Next Week: The Sanctuary of our Body The Third Temple Series 9 The Digestive System Operates and Functions like (The Tribe of Benjamin) “Ravin as a Wolf”
