Parts of a Fiction Story
 Characters
– made-up people or animals
 Narrator – tells the story. Can be a person in the
story (1st Person) or not (3rd Person)
 Setting – where the action takes place
 Plot – story’s action. Series of events that includes
conflict, which needs to be resolved


Dialogue – conversation between the characters
Sensory Details – make the characters, setting,
action come alive
